Hoopsnek! I saw you hadn't posted for a week and got worried. I hope everything's all right with you.

#6 and hare in the Netherlands we have flocks of those annoying green banded parakeets or whatever they’re called. Christ, even a murder of crows is less noisy.

#1 I love how videos and observations are showing how much empathy other animals have for the creatures around them.

5am, driving to airport for 3 days away of work. Already missing my family but doing important work in climate action. $1B of negative against us but still going.
Things like these posts genuinely help.

That dog's name was bounce? What happened if you had two dogs and named one "ball" and the other one "walk"

Thank you! These warmed my heart. :D

#2 random but I've always appreciated people that color with a system of line. I'm all over the place! But the patterning that comes out as a result looks great.
psychologisttheologist
#1 in the first one there's a bird in the bucket and the horse is dumping out the bird
writerdahling
Thanks, I didn't catch that. Makes it even more sweet than the horse tipping thr bucket to give the birds some of the food, which in hindsight sounds a little silly.

Yea, it's not kindess. It's paying the troll toll.

see my other comment, yes: made up story. BUT still wholesome content.
THIS is what a story is. It's a story told, not using our vast, unconnected colletion of words from the dictionary, but using our vast, unconnected collection of videos from the internet.

#15 I needed this. I just finished a final exam for my Masters program. It puts me at 1/3 through the program. I'm tired, but I can do it.

Just take a nap on a trampoline during a meteor shower

A lot of people never get that far. I never even tried for a Masters. I watched my sister get hers and am still in awe of the work she did. It's a huge accomplishment to get as far as you have and you're not giving up! Go you!!

You can do it!

#10 Not to be that guy, that’s 2 different dogs.
Grinch01
Maybe because the hole video is bs 🤷♂️
noone1415
It's (at least) two different boats, too...
Xerubay
Water quality keeps changing. Mishmash of different videos.
JacktheKind
The rescue scene is a different boat, different body of water spliced in. Might be more than two videos. HOWEVER:
THIS is what a story is. It's a story told, not using our vast, unconnected colletion of words from the dictionary, but using our vast, unconnected collection of videos from the internet.
So thank you once more @hoopsnek ! They're not a journalism channel, the promised 21 nice and wholesome things and they delivered <3

sunfield
That's all fine if you're upfront that it's a story told, but here it's (if unintentionally from the OPs side) presented as reality which makes it feels deceitful. I want real, wholesome content that shines through all the shit we usually see, not make-believe wholesome content. Whoever made that clip originally no doubt did it for money-making purposes and not to tell a story for" wholesome content" alone.
JacktheKind
there is a segment in Comedians in Cars (Chris Rock ep I think) where they talk about comedians now only telling things out of their life or other things actually happened - regardless wether it is funny or not. When it's some much more important to create a joke that's funny, that's what people are there for at a comedy show. (They cite a Chapelle bit, where his crack pipe starts talking to him, that's not real... but it's funny).

If we once again understand what fiction is and that we need it, I believe people would also be more critical about the content that is presented to them as "news" or "information" on social media. Because we would realize, that the fiction is there to elicit emotion and make us feel things, but the news isn't. I feel like we have it backwareds currently, it's only "good content" if gets people scared, horny, overjoyed or angry - that's what art is for, not informative content.
sunfield
But that's all about context. If I pick up a book that's marked as fiction, I'm content with it being a made-up story with fantastical elements. If I pick up non-fiction book I do not expect to be told stories, but to be given facts and reality. In these feel good dumps I do expect the stories within it to be real and not made-up composited stories or AI. In this context it's only "good content" when it's true.
JacktheKind
so guess for imgur posts, it's hard to really draw a hard line... but I agree with you that when it presented mostly as "this is a thing that happened", then it should be true.
JacktheKind
Yes, I absolutely understand the point of being disappaointed and feeling deceived. And in essence I share that. I am actively repulsed by AI content.
I understand that the expectation is that "wholesome things" should be real things; if they're not they kinda lose their encouraging "value". I agree.
But the story of the dog and dolphin was nice and retained it's wholesome feel, even after I was like "wait, that's a different boat"...
