Is no one else in this world bothered by replies to things being above them? Have we all gone mad? You need to know what the original message said before understanding the comment to it, no?

There have to be better slurs. "Verts" only applies if there are no vertical robots, and most circuitry uses carbon (plastic cases if nothing else). Stick with "meat", "meat/skin/bloodbags", "humes", "fleshies", "squishies", "eaters" (as in they have to eat to live), etc.
DoctorDudeBruh
My favorite was from an alien story where they discovered earth and were freaked out by the "sentient meat". I think they called humans "meaties". Its been awhile.
Vesorias
"How all that sloshing doesn't drive you mad, I have no idea."

#46 i do virtual choochoos :>
DdCno1
What are your favorite train sims and tracks?
ZeHydro
I wouldn't say sims, but Derail Valley and Railroader. Century of Steam will almost certainly join that list once it releases. Don't know that I have a favorite track.
DdCno1
Thanks! Derail Valley I've heard of (been on my wish list for ages), but the others look interesting as well.
Sechran
#44 - there are some which are so place specific it breaks the paradigm. Panic! At the Disco is explicitly at the disco, so they can't be in your house or they loose all cohesion. Brendon Urie walks through your front door, shrieks, and just melts into goo.
... suppose you wouldn't want that in your house either then.
jayman0123
Aerosmith would just be a plane engineer and yes, that would be fine, but Journey, no I do not want to take a long trip inside my house because I'm old, fat, and tired.
SmeesNotVeryGoodTwin
Well, you'd have to have a disco in your house, like how some rich people have actual home theaters or bowling alleys. Which can be a problem all on its own, but then you have someone with a mental health emergency. I mean, if you're down to host a disco, then a responsible host should be prepared to deal with that sort of thing, but it's not exactly pleasant for anyone involved.

#36 still better than webp
DdCno1
WebP is crazy efficient compared to PNG though - and at this point, support for it isn't an issue anymore.

#21 nah, I'm gonna tell juuuust enough customers to fuck off to get demoted. Fuck the system
DdCno1
You'd just get fired and blacklisted, not demoted. Walmart isn't the military (although similarly powerful).

#2 a rat can tread water for up to three days. Someone is going to find a swimming and very alive rat that will need to still be dealt with.
DdCno1
Swimming, very alive and VERY pissed off.

Typically, if you see one rat, then there are a dozen others you don't see.

#12 I will never forget my first chat room. It made absolutely zero sense to me and as it was being explained I was wondering if I was having a prank pulled on me.
DdCno1
Why did you think it was a prank? When was this? BBS days?
Easilyflustered
Like 1994 AOL chat rooms. The idea of a bunch of people just randomly type chatting with each other on a digital typewriter felt very weird at 13 years old.
DdCno1
Ah, I see. It is a strange concept, if you think about it (he wrote, doing a rather similar thing).
Easilyflustered
Exactly, it's so common now and part of our vernacular and culture. It was wildly new to me at that time. Also had weird lingo that has since dropped. A/S/L? 😂
DdCno1
16/f/cali - /s Oh how I hated this lazy "greeting" in chat rooms. I routinely chastised people for it, sometimes successfully so.

#2 amateur... you use a bottle with the butt end covered by a sock and the bait stuck in the mouth if the bottle... by the time Ratus ratus grabs the bait, realises that he's just screwed his balance and his toes are all thats holding him up... its too late and he wont let go of rhe bait... 2x4s however he's been climbing over his entire life

Travel is way easier with money but there are folks that manage to travel with very little money and it astounds me... but they love it so they like live on crackers and work double shifts then disappear for a while come back with wild stories
Hashbrown123
There is a whole culture around poor people traveling the country, hobo culture.
MichikoTheJungleFox
I'm one of those. One of the keys is booking long, long in advance. Sometimes you can get plane tickets for next to nothing if you're like a year and a half early in booking. Then I also don't need to stay in a fancy hotel. In the case of Japan for example I can spend the nights in internet cafes. I dunno about 2026 prices but back in 2018 it was only 600 yen per night (10 PM to 6 AM).
azazyel
One year we got plane tickets 3 months before a trip, we booked a year in advance the next time and got 1st class for cheaper than coach
RadasNoir
#16 Somewhat unrelated, but I gave dating apps a try specifically because I'm an introvert who doesn't really like to go out anywhere, and was hoping to connect with someone similar. Meanwhile, 99% of the profiles I saw were for people who were almost the complete opposite of me in every conceivable way.

#16 On long weekends I like to go camping. Camping being driving so far into the woods that nobody is around to throw me out. 1 tank of gas + snacks. Meanwhile there are teens going to Ibiza for an amount of money that would get me an associates' degree.
OnlyOneArman
Right? Some of my siblings will go on a cruise that costs $2000 per person, and here I am with my tent, some books, and $100 of food that gets me through a four day weekend. I get that some people don't like camping, but you can get a cabin with AC for under $50/night.
blondewithabrain
Cabins with AC here in Utah go for around $150/night sadly. I'm missing camping, but can't handle sleeping on the ground or the heat while pregnant. I wish there was a cabin that was $50/night.
DoctorDudeBruh
have you tried a folding cot? That wont help with the heat though. do swamp coolers work in Utah?

Definitely a duck like SalmonTheWise said.

#2 I can tell you that every time I have been troubled with a mouse inside my house, it has taken Rube Goldberg machines like this to deal with it.
DdCno1
We had a single mouse in the house once. My dad just grabbed it with his bare hands and gently placed it outside. It never returned.
Hyzenthlay021
Guy I knew had one get on his boat (liveaboard). He tried everything including professional exterminators. Finally went down to the humane society and said "I want the biggest, meanest, cat you've got, and I'm telling right now I'm bringing it back" (guy hated cats). He had to pay all the adoption fees, but one week later that rat was gone. Cat didn't get it, but it wouldn't stay onboard with the cat.

I can't find anything about that, just a few studies that are essentially questionnaires.
FWIW vitamin b definitely gives you crazy vivid dreams and there's a number of other supplements known for it, so... it wouldn't surprise me?
Feralkyn
https://www.nationalgeographic.com/health/article/cheese-diet-dreams-sleep-nightmares Seems legit enough, and correlates increased stomach pain from dairy sensitivity with stronger nightmares, which makes sense. Stomach go ow, brain go oh no!
