Thanks for the love, friends! For all those wondering: 1) That is the back door. 2) it was a rental and I don’t live there anymore. 3) My cat’s name is Cletus and you can see more of him here: https://www.instagram.com/cletoburrito?igsh=ZTZzejZhdG4xdnp5&utm_source=qr

I usually get the same reaction too. Cats are awesome

My cat would always be waiting for me when I came home. Even though I have an EV and there was no loud noise to give away my return, and the car was parked far enough away from her napping spot that I don't think she heard the basic noise to alert pedestrians.

It was my favorite part of going out for the last few years of her life. Knowing that when I came home I'd have a cut run up to me, super excited to see me. Didn't matter how long I was gone. Five minutes or ten hours, same excitement.

My cat hears our garage door cause EV here too. Always by the door and very chatty

Yo! Yo home!! Feed me!

All that opulence protected by a door found on a beach after floating for 147-years. Surprised it didn't sink from all the lead paint on it

the ADT security sticker on that door

Prophetic, & true

The feeling you get when your pet greets you when you come home after a shitty workday has saved me from myself a couple of times

My kitties wait in my window for me when I come home, and they get very excited when they see me 🥰 ... cuz they know it's feeding time. 😆

My Kaiju Cat, Chai, gets upset when I get dressed because it usually means I'm going to work. She acts an ass the entire time I'm trying to leave.
Has even gone so far as to attempt a bite.
(She didn't actually though, cause she's a sweet baby.)

But when I get home? All hell breaks lose. She'll bound up to me, crying- then once I hug her she fucks with everything and everyone because she's still upset I left.

My cat knew the sound of my car alarm beep when I locked it. He'd run to the door and wait for me to open it.

Same with my dad and his cat. He would go running as soon as the garage door started up. On a side not my house was totally haunted and one day my dad definitive sneeze came echoing up the stairs and his cat got up and ran down stairs to greet him. He wasn't there.

Mine used to sit on the dash and wait for me to finish my shower, and as soon as she saw me coming back she'd jump on the horn and honk it at me. Other drivers trying to sleep *loved* how excited she was, lemme tell you.

Now we live at home and she knows the sound of my house key, specifically mine and I know that cause my brother borrowed it one day and she flipped her shit when she heard the right key but found the wrong human holding it. Cats are great.

My cat used to know the sound of my heels walking down the sidewalk coming home from work (she was originally a feral kitty, so we let her out during the day and brought her in for the nights)

I am so intrigued on the layout here.

Looks like a New Orleans shotgun style:

I immediately thought New Orleans when he opened the door

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You immediately thought right!

Nice! We love it there, most of our friends there live in the Bywater, one lives in the Garden District. We’ll be there for Halloween, can’t wait!

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sure, but why is the bedroom in front?

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"it was the style at the time"
If it is a shared-house, the living room is often used as a bedroom, too. If it is a single person home, then the layout is wholly user driven.
If the occupant is a "work from ned" job, then that's the public office you are seeing .)

It’s the back door. I parked my bike and came in through the back door.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah that makes some sense

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Paint your door yo! That wood is going to degrade quickly and doors are EXPENSIVE!

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was my landlord’s door, and I moved. I’ll send her a note though.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Boys will see this and think this is perfectly OK.

I would never leave my monitor on and survive a single day with a door not repainted, yep :)

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

AH,ya...

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

hell yeah

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He prolly should sand and repaint that door tho

11 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

He's a tenant. Not his job.

11 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

That is because it is.

11 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Why isn’t it?

11 months ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

My guess is they're making fun of the "boys will live like this and see nothing wrong" meme, where the reply is "they hate how little it takes for us to be happy."

(probably paraphrased, since I haven't seen it in a while.)

Gurpgork? Durman gurpgork?

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Bishlamek gurpgork.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I want to come over to your place & repaint your front door.

11 months ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 2

Better be *lead removal* certified. That door has multiple ways of offing you

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A chemical stripper would keep most of the dust down.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A chemical stripper? Is that something like a naked female meth head? I'll take my chances with the lead paint, thankyou

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pffft... do you even carpent?

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For a mere 60-years.... That is all.... I have used every chemical stripper in the book. You however can't find the humor in what I wrote... Dry humor is very difficult to understand if you're addlebrained.....Did you actually think I didn't know that word? How pretentious you are...

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s the back door and I don’t live there anymore, but thanks!

11 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Even if it's your backdoor, you should still keep it pretty!

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

True..but it was my landlady’s back door!

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I'm not even gonna try topping that one. +1!

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't forget to strip first.

I mean, don't forget to strip *it* first.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Scrap - repair - prime then paint

11 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Probably scrape instead

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yep, it's a process.

11 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

How soon can you get here?

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It depends on whether or not I need an active passport!
