Yeah, I just happened to look this up the other day! Back in the 1800s, it was common (in some cases even mandatory) for military men to have mustaches, so the Amish shave their upper lip as a rejection of that culture.

Boxes are fractionally better - when the tired hits you, you can (usually) just stack them against the wall so you can use the bed. But because things are in boxes, they become ‘out of sight, out of mind’ and the stack gets left until you need something from one of the boxes … which is probably one of the ones at the bottom …

My mom wouldn’t let my younger brothers and I watch The Rugrats growing up because “Angelica is a bully and she didn’t want to promote bullying”.
But she had no problem with us watching Arthur. Which I’ve now discovered was hypocritical as DW bullied Arthur or tried to but that was apparently okay because she was younger than him so I guess it didn’t count.
Hmm this apparent hypocrisy towards only shows with older bullies will make for interesting 4th of July table convo lol

I wasn't allowed to watch Arthur or Sponge Bob cause of the bad behavior shown. Honestly I'm happy about that, my siblings and I were all really well behaved. I grew up on Scooby Doo and Tom & Jerry.
