I have always got mine in white Styrofoam. If too hot it warps the container. I'd prefer the less chemical leaching paper parcel style any day.

Bah, it's infinitely better when you don't have to share, so you can just tear a hole in one end and eat it without opening the whole thing up, as nature intended.

Its the only way. Used to have newspaper. Best part is walking home with it and ripping a small hole in the end and eating chips. Then telling the kids a rat chewed a hole and stole some chips.

American common fish and chips comes from McDonald’s where they put it on a bun but it’s not from a named fish, more like something cut from a slab like a doormat that was the result of precipitating the solids from a a chemically liquified sea creature aggregation. And salt.

Best place in my hometown used to wrap them in newspaper. Kinda gross now that I think about it.

Growing up we had them wrapped in newspaper paper too, but there was a buffer plain paper between chips and newspaper that made it seem okay *shrug*

Aussie here. That's how we do it too. I think it's the same in the UK, but as with all things, the US probably do things differently, and then act like everyone else is weird.

Ireland mostly does it with a paper bag. Inside grease proof one outside brown paper.
