Enemy Mine

The rubber-like Drac ration balls were made from green jello.

Road Trip

When E.L. asks for "help" from the nurse working at the sperm bank she says, "The best results seem to be obtained through fantasization accompanied by masturbation followed by ejaculation." This line was taken from a similar scene in The Right Stuff (1983), where Gordon Cooper asks for help from Nurse Murch.

The Ewok Adventure: Caravan of Courage

Ok, i'm going to cheat a little on this one. When I watched this as a little kid, this scene scarred me for life against spiders.

Road House

Injuries that Dalton (Patrick Swayze) had sustained were two bullet (gunshot) wounds, four steel screws, nine puncture (knife) wounds and 31 broken bones.

Tommy Boy

On the list showing the exam grades of the students at the beginning of the movie, look at the bottom. One of the names is Helen Keller, who scored an F.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

At the cave scene, Lo sings a song. This song is in one of old Turkish languages (probably Uyghur lang) which still can be understandable in today's Turkish language. Something along the lines of: "............... yiriliyorida, gordum su guzel kiz havar guni, .............. bu guzel aylari, ey guzel kiz havali kiz" As far as I understand, it means; "............. while she was singing softly, I saw that beautiful girl when sun goes down, ...................... this beautiful months, You beautiful girl, cool girl".

The Nightmare Before Christmas

It took a group of around 100 people three years to complete this movie. For one second of film, up to 12 stop-motion moves had to be made.

The Shining

For the scene in which Jack breaks down the bathroom door, the props department built a door that could be easily broken. However, Jack Nicholson had worked as a volunteer fire marshal and tore it apart far too easily. The props department were then forced to build a stronger door.

The Mummy

Brendan Fraser nearly died during a scene where his character is hanged. Rachel Weisz remembered, "He [Fraser] stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated."

Gladiator

Joaquin Phoenix ad-libbed his scream of "Am I not merciful?", and Connie Nielsen's reaction of frightfully pulling away from him was genuine, since she wasn't expecting it.

Jumper

The crew was allowed to film inside the Colosseum for three days, under 3 conditions: no equipment could be placed on the ground, they could only shoot from 6:30 to 8:30 am and 3:30 to 5:30 pm to avoid disturbing tourists, and the only lighting allowed was natural sunlight.

Coming to America

This film marks the first time Eddie Murphy played multiple characters in the same film. Something which has gone on to be a trademark of his.
(and a really young Cuba Gooding jr getting his hair cut)

I need to add directive 249 to my system. Im too attacky lately lol also DAMN! the mummy thing is messed up! Thanx again!!!

Dalton's steel screws likely weren't an injury as much as a treatment

For those 31 broken bones.

If you made one of these posts once a day for the rest of your life, I'd appreciate it.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Whose idea was it to actually hang Brendan Frasier? Jesus, that was stupid.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

sitting here wondering what harnessing would be required to make this safe. If i were the actor I'd want to be able to get my hands free!!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Coming to America is a really underrated movie. Arsenio played many roles too. I still tell the soup joke that Eddie tells as the old jew.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

DIRECTIVE 247: Don't run through puddles and splash pedestrians or other cars. Nice to know they programmed Robocop to not be a dick.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I tried stop motion animation with my 3DS and its set to 10 frames to 1 sec. Stop motion animation is hard as fuck

10 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Can you do it w the 2ds, can't find the app

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Does it have a camera function?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ok so go to it and check by the options button. There should be a tab that has stuff like montage, stop motion and interval

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My 10 year old cousin made a stop motion Lego film on his iPad. It was really good and I was super impressed. It took him like 2-3 weeks

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WANl0PoduM Laika did this video just for shits and giggles. You find the passion, it becomes easy.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I made a ~5minute stopmotion film with 4 other people and with help from a experienced teacher, took us 2-3 hours a day about 12+ days

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Using play-doh, my 3DS and some serious boredom I made 2, very crappy, 30 second videos in over an hour.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I made a bunch of Lego racing stop-motion videos by myself once. The pacing was terrible, the characters had barely any personality... yeah.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Although I did eventually make a full-fledged story arch with a flying pirate ship with a laser cannon. I still have the Arrghosy w/ crew.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's rad

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I got the goosebumps thinking about that Gladiator scene.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A movie that could have been a typical generic summer blockbuster but wasn't because of some incredible performances and music

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pain don't hurt.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Roadhouse reference deserves so much more than +1

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Out of all the times I watched Coming to America, I never noticed Cuba Gooding Jr. was in the movie.

10 years ago | Likes 368 Dislikes 2

I couldn't believe he was the white guy

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A very young Alex Rodriguez is in the restaurant scene where Samuel L. Jackson attempts to rob the place.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can already picture the kid you're talking about.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

he was in MacGyver like three times as different characters.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He went to my highschool for 1 semester, people STILL won't stop talking about it.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's awesome, and I love that film. I believe it was Sam L Jackson's first role too

10 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

As far as I know, yes. At least it was his first credited appearance.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Jumper by Steven Gould. They're a little dated at this point but fun to read.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

you can say that again.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I see what you did, there.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There's another guy on here with a similar name that likes it as well apparently, you're good.

10 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

Maybe they could watch it together for movie night?

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I might be the only person on earth who likes jumper. And I'm okay with that.

10 years ago | Likes 282 Dislikes 5

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I liked it as well, great premise that they could have done a bit more with

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I enjoyed it =)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I felt itvwas a cool concept with some terrible romance in the foreground, id love a remake.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This movie is the inspiration for my username.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Have you read the book? It's good

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wanted to.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I loved it, and the books!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was shoved on the Hayden Christensen hate train, which caused the bad reviews. It's a decent movie otherwise.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I enjoyed quite a bit.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I watched it. Had a really stupid guy explaining it to me the whole time. It was annoying. "See? That guy doesn't like Jumpers."

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I want a second one! The book and its sequel were good as well, but very different.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was just about to comment something similar. It wasn't amazing, but the concept was fun and the movie was entertaining.

10 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 0

I feel that people hated it because they felt the movie was trying to ride the hype of a star wars actor. I loved the movie!

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

There's at least a few here. We should start a band

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

you can say that again.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I even bought and keep looking for a part 2 on IMBD haha

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

the movie was good. the book was incredible, though. They kind of butchered the book, but the movie's good as a separate story

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Yay I'm not alone!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My husband makes me watch it a lot. It's not the worst, and some parts are really captivating.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I imagine your husband just commanding you to sit on the couch and watch the movie while he just leaves the room to do something more fun.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

bahahaha that's very close to the truth sometimes!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Jumper by Steven Gould. They're a little dated at this point but still fun to read.
