You're making progress. I'm down from 289.9 to 247 the last time I measured. I've gone up a few times, but its not a contest and its not impossible to still make progress despite backsliding a bit now and then. Don't be discouraged, OP. We'll all get there.
I had to find old pictures of my wife when she started losing weight. She didn't notice whe she had lost 30 pounds it I sure did! She's 90 pounds down now and she's completely full of energy. Even if you can't see it, believe me everyone around you does.
You’ll notice it when you walk. You’ll notice it when you don’t get tired as easily. You’ll notice it with time. Take the win. You are y at your goal but you hit a major benchmark.
Focus on the tools you can measure with: your scales. They show progress! Your eyes will catch up, keep at it! Can’t lose the total weight if you don’t lose that first 50, great start!
I get it! I've lost 18kg, but funnily enough it's given me *more* body issues! Where everything felt at least a little pert when I had more fat, now it's just droopy and floppy because whilst the fat is shrinking, the skin certainly isn't. :S
Parents often don't see how much their kids have grown in the last year because they see them everyday. Small changes every day can go unnoticed. There's no way you look the same after dropping 50lbs.
Keep going, just keep going - 50lbs is already a tremendous reduction, your major organs, including heart, will love you for it. I've been on a similar journey over the past 3.5 years, and along the way I found a love of running I didn't think I'd ever have. In the UK, potatoes used to be sold wholesale in 56lb sacks - the exact same amount of weight I lost in the first 18 months of trying. I'm pretty sure I'd notice the difference trying to lift that kind of weight now, so well done yourself!
You have to know you're better off, rather than feel it. I've lost a similar amount of weight in the past, and I quit smoking thirteen years ago, and I honestly don't feel any different now. I *know* I'm better off, even if I don't necessarily feel the benefit every single day.
I've recently lost 20kgs (like 44 lb?) And I can't really see a difference but apparently my friends can, we tend to judge ourselves the harshest. Look for things beyond your perception if yourself. Shirts that didn't fit will start feeling less snug, you'll have more energy, make less noises getting up. I've got a way to go but it's getting easier every day and your efforts aren't going unnoticed I promise you.
Don't discount your progress! 50 pounds is amazing! But the big question is do you feel good? So long as you're feeling good, that's the only thing that matters. I'm on a weight loss/health and fitness journey myself, and sometimes it's hard to see the progress, but I feel healthier and I feel great! Keep up the work! It's so worth it!
It’s not all about look sweets! How do you feel after losing that first 50! Because I bet you feel great! With weight loss it’s all about the small victories! And celebrating them to make sure you stay motivated!! You got this OP!! We believe in you!
50lbs is 25 bags of sugar. Go put 25 bags of sugar in a back pack and carry it around for half an hour then tell me you don't notice when you've put it down.
You probably do look different but can't tell because a lot of us fatties have body dysmorphia. I always felt just as fat even when I was wearing a size 38 instead of a size 46. I don't have a solution except maybe ask some honest people?
Srsly 30 lbs down from 240 I feel great and look good from the front, but in profile where once I looked a barrel of a man, now I look like señor Cardgage.
It's even worse when the size body dysmorphia collides with gender body dysmorphia and it's all so confusing and paying any attention to it quickly becomes overwhelming oh my god I need to eat something to self-medicate my untreated ADHD.
Aldo others notice the loss. Remember when you ou see a little bit of change over time. You don't notice how much it actually changes. That is before we start to throw our own negative feelings about how we look.
As another fellow on the weight loss journey, 50 down and over 100 to go, I can say, I feel your pain relief. As you get more active, old pains may return. Do not get discouraged. You got this, @op
You might not notice the difference - since you yourself are seeing the incremental changes every day but I bet people who haven't seen you would notice it immediately trust me.

Keep up the good work. You GOT this!

Focus more on how better the clothes fit than reading the scale. Weight fluctuates as easy as taking a dump. Waistline not so much.

This is undeniable proof that you can do this. Keep it up!

Get new clothes, baggy stuff hides weight loss.

You'll feel it long before you see it. Your pants will be looser, your step will be lighter, you'll be cooler. Keep going, you can do this!

Yeah, this is why I actually find the scale helpful when others avoid it. Visible progress.

Measurements are concrete numbers. And Photos can sometimes help people.

Oh yeah. Not just weight, but personally I don't lose weight in the first places I look. Chest and butt dissapear first, and my face and gut stay lol.

Nah it'a more likely simply due to it being a gradual change and not noticing each individual kilo.
It's like a growing baby/child. Everyone says "oh wow they've grown a lot!" but the parents don't notice.

Man don’t self treat that. Go to your general practitioner or psychiatrist and get Adderall or Vyvanse.

Hey, you know what's difficult to do when one struggles to get enough executive function to get through day to day life? Medical coverage.
GreaseMonkeyOfLove
Im sure your knees and other joints noticed the weight loss.

Your heart and lungs have certainly noticed the ease while you’re sleeping. This is the most important, friend.

As does your heart and other organs.

I'm also sure it's easier to wipe your bum. I have lost 20kg and still have ~60kg to go myself

I never thought of that, but yes, yes it is!
