Yeah, I definitely wouldn't take candy from the person I probably know and agreed to film with for said candy

Gullibility or basic goodness in people?

People accept drinks, food & desserts thousands of times per day. Free samples. County fairs. Street markets with no problems for decades.

Children go door-to-door accepting candy.

And then X.X% of the time assholes do evil .. seeing this some people pretend there's ONLY despair, cynicism & nihilism; selling "doom" at every turn.

The truth? BOTH. Find a place somewhere between copium and hopium. Don't believe it's "all good" or opposite. Flow. Enjoy.

I love the cat distribution system as well as the Rohypnol one. I take one of each thanks.
On a serious note : I got prescribed Rohypnol once. The problem was it just did not work unless I took like 4 times the dosage. I had serious sleeping problem then as well as now. Got to take like 4 different sleeping pills every night.

No, we’re gonna start handing out candy to strangers.

Start? Like during Halloween?

All the time.

One can politely accept and not consume

That's the way I do it too. The person might be a genuine nice one without intentions, but you never know.

Bill Clinton?

No she did the finger measuring thing Trump did to her when she was 8.

Where did they learn that Vulcan two-fingered thing at the end?

You and I watched very different seasons of Star Trek

It has been modified by these folks, but still recognizable.

It's from the third movie, where the lieutenant played by Robin Curtis helps teenage Spock through adolescence. Gets reused in Voyager when Tim Russ' dude is horny for his wife. (Gave up trying to get the character names to survive autocarrot. It understood Spock, go figure.)

My memory holds the most useless details...

It's from Journey to Babel, the TOS episode that introduced Spock's parents.

Somebody that I can point to as knowing even more useless minutiae than I do! Bless you, oh, bless you!

(I don't actually remember much TOS at all, so your comment actually is helpful.)

It's always fun to watch Mike and Rich Evans talk Star Trek. I know you guys aren't them, but in the holodeck of my mind, you are.

I think, THINK, this -now hear me out- this may be staged.

6 months ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 6

Nah there is too much awkward in this for it to be staged lol

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

What exactly makes you think this is staged?

6 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

He can tell by the pixels

6 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

And seeing quite a few stages in my time

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

All except that last bit. That felt like genuine fumble

Maybe he knew them but I think the candy was a genuine surprise. I carry candy like a grandma and my friends think it's funny when I reach into my pocket and offer them a random starburst or some hi chews.

Parents in Asia: Don't accept candy from strangers... Unless they're filming you, then it's okay.

6 months ago | Likes 129 Dislikes 1

Eh, it's not like parents in the West really teach their kids not to accept candy from strangers; there's even a whole holiday where kids go door to door all night getting candy from strangers.

6 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Should have seen my childhood. One bullshit news story and every Halloween ended with my father spending 2 hours going over every piece of candy for needle holes before I was allowed to have just 2 pieces for the night.

Sure, but these women are adults who can look it over themself to see if its been tampered with.

More cameras, more safety... no?

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Cameras change crime as much as cutting hands off theives.

It change for some potential individual criminals in some situations with some potential individual victims and doesn't matter for others. And changes in every permutation and combination of individuals & groups.

Believe whatever you want because there's no black and white answer to the question you posed or the philosophy it represents.

You wanted yes or no and I brought truth into it. Sorry.

( Psychology shows the 3 largest changes in crime are due to changes in self image, financial wealth in relation to sense of future security, and effective education. Although law enforcement and fear of reprecussions of crime have some effec, the effect tends to be temporary and not cumulative )
