#34 I've had little success clearing my noisy thoughts; it requires too much concentration and becomes counterproductive. I usually do better if I just let the noise wash over me without getting attached to any particular thought. It takes practice, but it's worth trying IMO.

Wife’s a therapist; that’s absolutely what she tells patients to do. Fighting intrusive thoughts (she specializes in PTSD) teens to just create more focus on them. Accepting them as a thought that just occurred to you and that’s fine but not worth any more attention is much more effective, apparently.
