I've had plenty. Farmers get massive government subsidies, bailouts, tax breaks. You can't be a farmer without enough money to buy the land, equipment, livestock, etc. Or at minimum enough capital for a bank to consider the loan you'd need. Am i saying Farmers can't be poor? No. Am i saying that Farmers have massive safety nets which change the reality/consequence of being poor? Yes. Every farmer I've ever met is poor. So they'll say anyway.
