And they will forget how he did it to them in the first place and PRAISE HIM.

Who is buying that equipment? Because last I heard, most farms are now in foreclosure because they couldn't sell their crops. I suppose this makes it cheaper for the oligarchs to buy equipment for all the new farms they just happened to acquire.
eronth
It's not reassuring watching them learn the stuff that was EXTREMELY OBVIOUS in real time. Just, so many less obvious lessons they won't learn or won't learn quickly that the US is going to have to face.
sadurdaynight
The tariffs..the tariffs that were determined to be illegal... they're going to LOWER those tariffs..not remove them. Da fuq?
IDontCareAtAllButIShould
He'll just put them back next month again.

Same thing. Doesn't really count as a bonus if you jacked up the price first.

Create a new norm that fucks everything up. Wait until people normalize it. Undo your intentional harm. Get rewarded. Spin it.

If Trump wanted to improve domestic industry, he would have worked directly with industry leaders, ask them where they can grow in the next 5 year, then slowly work up tarrifs to meet that growth as it happens. He didn't do that. He tarrifed everything. He tarrifed coffee, an industry we dont have. He tarrifed things we cannot domestically mine. He tarrified things we dont want to domestically make. Either he doesnt know what he's doing or his motives are dishonest.
crazyspelling
Dishonest motives. He killed two birds with one stone: implemented a debunked "common sense" economic policy his "racist uncle at Thanksgiving" demographic would eat up, AND create a huge cash slush fund he could use or steal without asking Congress for money.
(For the uninitiated, Congress' ability to control budgets and appropriate money is their primary check on executive overreach. Can't weaponize an EPA/IRS/FDA/FCC that doesn't have any money.)

The headline is not the real one, and nobody cares about someone adding absolutely nothing to the article.

Maggets be like... you don't get it, his 9000IQ BBQ play is finally almost complete. He destabilized the de stabilizers so he can then re-stabilize the destabilized sectors that he uh... destabilized himself. So now that they are stabilized we can win because the products cost more so more profits! Now we just need him to open that wh*re Moose or w/e it is from Canada cause that's where the moosessus are from.

Tariff levels are directly proportional to how many results you get when you search "Epstein" on twitter

Putin will just order him to raise them even higher again because Trump is a Kremlin asset and is the tool intended to enact revenge on the United States for the breakup of the Soviet Union

Saw this on the morning news in Canada and even the host was all fed up with it. She ended the segment with "these reduced tarrifs will stay in place until 2027,....or whenever it changes again"
The U.S. Is just seen as a bad joke these days and it'd take decades and decades to rebuild that relationship, if ever...
DarthFutuza
The US is just going to be broken till 2030 at the earliest. Assume they are hostile until then.

Making trade deals with Trump is like making peace deals with Putin: Let's hold off on that until there's someone in the office who's word is worth more than a bucket of warm spit.
graehall
Yeah the world is moving on without the US, seeing Europe decouple from US tech, alliances between Canada and the EU. The US is unreliable
CelestialSea
It's gone forever. Not so much because of Trump specifically, but because he exposed the truth about what America has been all along.
IDontCareAtAllButIShould
You mean the world has problems with negotiating lower tariffs only to have the orange guy change them back again the next month. Yet he expects everyone to negotiate with him in good faith. We are a joke.
theshinobi23
Such bullshit. We would never do that. That would be like negotiating a ceasefire with Iran and then immediately attacking Iran because Israel wanted us to. That's crazy talk... /s
ChiLLeCheeze
I wake up every day thinking Schrodinger's ceasefire.
theshinobi23
If the article I read today is accurate, that's ending now. Supposedly Iran has stated they will no longer even attempt to negotiate with the US or Israel because of the fake-ass ceasefires. They demand full retreat of Israel forces, return of all occupied lands, and for no more attacks on Gaza before they will be willing to even come to the table, according to what the article said.

If only they learned from their mistakes...
crazyspelling
"Tariffs are bad and dumb" is iterally taught in introductory economics classes. You know, the classes Trump bought 'A's in at Fordham so he could have perfect grades and transfer to Wharton.
SixSixxtySix
Worked perfectly as yet another way to transfer wealth from the majority to the Epstein Class.

So much fuckin this
philmoregraves
Its almost like farmers were hurt last time by tariffs, then voted for him again anyways, and then were hurt even more by tariffs bc they didnt learn from their first mistake and now a lot of them are bankrupt
bananabonanza3
It’s so fucking dumb. Leopards eating good lately, but it’s really disturbing how much trust they have on him, anyway. They assume everything they don’t agree with won’t affect them cuz he magically knows everything. Like, farmers that employed immigrants simply trusted that Trump wouldn’t go after their immigrants and assume any loved ones he’s said he’d go after are somehow gonna be exempt from his hatred
crazyspelling
He was supposed to go after the Dem farmers, you know, the ones that grow bananas, coffee, tea, cocoa, avocados, tomatoes, peppers, berries, cucumbers, pineapples, guavas, mangoes (i.e., all the stuff we import from Mexico and Central/South America)
Terran81
They were expecting a bailout like before. They knew exactly what they were voting for.
