Oh hur hur what a good joke
SHANE523
Sears catalog used to offer a Tommy Gun for under $100 and we didn't have gun issues. Maybe, just maybe it isn't a "gun" issue!
creeperfrenzy
There are kinder eggs in the US. Forgot what they are called but they are supposed to be monsters or something that have animal facts in em'
RobErtE87
depends, so you keep your rifle in reach of your children unsupervised and let them put the rifle in their mouth and suffocate on it?
Patthegreatandfat
I'm not sure why buying a gun at Wal-mart is a bad thing?
warick
Same. I've never bought one there, but they do have good prices on ammo.
Same here
HypnoChanger
Wouldn't this be a false equivalence? Kinder eggs, so far as I know, are illegal due to the rule against having non-edibles inside of 1/
a piece of food. Not because they were involved in mass murder. These would be equivalent if there was a kinder egg maniac who killed so 2/
many people with kinder eggs that we made them illegal. Otherwise, you're comparing a health/safety hazards to weapon regulations.
TysonGoesOutside
Fine have a kinder egg. But first go through this background check. And pay for this tax stamp. Make sure you store it safely.
Btw if anything at all bad happens you have to hear about how it's the kinder eggs fault and yours.
Kid gets lured into a van by a pedo with chocolate... you now get to hear people suggest egg registration. Have fun.
EliMFrost
They're not illegal if you bring them over without the chocolate on it.
Ginkawa
does "Semi-Automatic" mean "extra dangerous" or something to non-gun-people?
rollercostarican
it kind of is lol.You can get a lot more shots off more quickly than with a bolt action. But i think they mean fully automatic.
technically, but IMO, semi-auto is the baseline, with bolt or lever action, ect, being "downgrades" from that.
I agree

I know lol

new business venture idea: buy kinder, eat chocolate, sell kinder toy container on amazon or ebay for them muricans.
HandsomeJackBlack
America has kinder joy now. They individually wrapped the halves of the eggs so it doesn't touch toy
wherearemytesticles
Instructions unclear. Bought chocolate, ate children

Best solution to this, is to just not wear fake eyelashes.
JakeChillenhaal
Aren’t kinder eggs becoming legal again? Thought I heard something about that
Treblaine
Kinder Eggs are illegal in US but not Canada for the same reason Norinco semi-auto rifles are illegal in US but not in Canada. Protectionism
US Candy Companies do the same thing US gun companies do, they support laws which selectively push out foreign gun/candy companies.
MladyFiend
Or you could put Them in the plastic thing they come in.
wherearetheavos
Often it's not resealable. 90% of them can't be stored in the thing they come in.

No they came out with Kinder Joy in America to get around the ban. They individually wrapped the halves of the eggs so it doesn't touch toy

I legit have never seen a semi automatic rifle for sale at Walmart
dondeestaelsanitario
It's not a constitutional right to own a kinder egg. Just saying.
BillysLegendaryCrack
Does the constitution say "semi-automatic rifle?"
Does it say "YouTube channel" or blog site? No, but they are guaranteed under the first amendment.
What about stinger missiles and anti-aircraft guns? Are they guaranteed under the second amendment?
VeritasMendez

Never had one, closest we had was a 'Wonder Egg. I hope It's not another Cadbury Creme experience
nightrideFM
I used to work at Wal-Mart and they stopped selling semi auto rifles a couple of years ago. They still sell shotguns tho.
lysani
Ours still carries bolt-actions and shotguns. They took out all the AR-15 styled rifles though.
echonite
Wtf is an "ar-15 styled" rifle? That is a very distinct look.
Yeah, Wal-Mart lost some backbone when they did
l8rz
Kinder eggs are great for keeping all sorts in, I keep my ear plugs in one and pills in another.
SmolTenk
Gloves when i am doing first responder stuff. Keeps them clean and dry.

They are also the perfect cat toy. You can close the egg, "biting" a string. Use it like a fishing rod or alone
DiceyBusiness
I just turn them into a chain...
NecrophiliacBear
Made molotovs with them as kid:)
I'd fill them with non-safety match heads and throw hard against a wall.
Naveedamin7992
I know drug dealers use these in my area.

There are lots of chocolates in the US with toys inside. I've bought Kinder eggs in the US. idk why everyone keeps saying they're illegal.
There are also Yowie chocolate toys. They have toys inside the chocolate and they're sold at Walmart.
Imightbetrolling
They used to be illegal for the longest time. A lot of places still don't carry them.
destess
They got unbanned
cousteau
When? Link?
williamp132
It took a simple browse through google and Walmart’s firearm section to find that no semi automatic weapons are sold, and only training 1/2
Manuals , accessories and pump shotguns with necessary licenses are sold.
dhulqarnayn
Shotgun licenses and Wal-Marts do not co-exist AFAIK
It isn’t a legit reply
BayouButcher
Where is this wal mart?
ScotchBingeington
Every wal mart in Minnesota and North Dakota that I've been in. Pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, you name it.
InertiaCreeps
I see them everywhere in Wisconsin, but never in Illinois. I think it's mostly in conservative states
Honestly, getting sick of hearing "buy very dangerous gun at Walmart!" Not once have I seen any weapons at walmart
TheSpacePolice
Try the sporting goods section, usually next to the fishing lures. You have to have someone unlock the case though
Who going around down voting anything to do with guns this is just a guy talking about where to get ammo lol
DClaub88
Depends where you live obviously.. every walmart around me sells guns. I but ammo at them regularly.
Bungulus
Some Walmart stores sell rifles and shotguns in their sporting goods departments. Especially common in the southeast US. (1/2)
Although the "semi-automatic" rifles they sell around me are small caliber rifles such as .22's and similar small game rounds.
I checked and the only rifles they sell are air rifles.
They're not going to sell them online, but if you go a supercenter in the southeast, you will find some there.
kgbofficer
Depends on both location and size of the Walmart. One near me sells Semi-auto, bolt, and shotguns. I've been to some without any too.
Anthemius
As a non American, can you actually get semi automatic rifles at Walmart?
Depends on what are you're in. Some do, some don't.
Yes, why would you not? What do non-gun-savvy people think "Semi-Automatic" means anyway?
1) I mean when I was in the British army it meant: self-loading firearm; one that not only fires a bullet each time the trigger is pulled.
2) But also performs all steps necessary to prepare it to discharge again. Perhaps that has changed.
that seems a technically reasonable. I guess I just don't see why being able to get one would be something strange or surprising.
British gun laws are so strict that the Olympic rifle squad (?) have to train abroad. That's why it is surprising to us.
I don't know what kind of Walmart she's going to, but weapons aren't sold there.
yummmmm
here's literally the first thing that came up when i googled that https://youtu.be/ovsyqrcBRDc
They took AR-15's out of their stores to calm the seething antigun folks after Sandy Hook.

The Walmart of Dick's Sporting goods.

Weapons and ammo are sold there. I've bought rounds there before.
ninjakitten
Ammo yes, but I haven’t seen a Walmart with guns for sale

Add a Canadian living in Canada they just drop them off at our doors daily
I have a Canadian living near Toronto. She's my resident Canadian who reports similar treatment. I'm sometimes jealous.

Last I heard they weren't illegal any more, but they def used to be.
awesalots
I heard that too! Pretty sure I saw them at Cost Plus World Market last week
YourWaifuIsTrash
I believe it's illegal to sell them as good without a warning, since it's a non-edible item inside a food (chocolate shell)
StatmanIbrahimovic
It more convoluted; The toy can't be embedded, only "co-mingled" so CrackerJacks and lollipops don't get banned.
quietlysinister
They are in fact still illegal. Kinder Surprise are half a chocolate egg and half a toy, so that they are technically separate products.
FuzzyX
Yes Congress made them lawful a few years ago by placing limitations on the toys to minimise choaking hazards.
tallweed
Yeah, they have always been available in Champaign/Urbana, IL.

ariafiresong
That one is a disappointing falsehood. It's not even actual Kinder chocolate
I get the real thing
Really? Shit. In NJ I only ever find the split ones. I prefer the real ones

They're not quite the same as the ones you can get in Europe
They're literally manufactured in Europe and brought here. "Kinder Surprise"
Then they are knock-offs or black market imports. I just checked CBP and FDA. The "Kinder Surprise" is still illegal for import
Black market import. Imported from where I wonder. Oh yeah, Europe.
"Kinder Joy" eggs, which are slightly different, we're approved earlier this year and are available
Oh really? Any idea where those are being sold?
Wal Mart exclusively through Christmas, then everywhere in 2018. You can probably find them on Amazon, but watch for counterfeits

There is also a mexican shop in East Chicago selling some. That was a random and recent find though.

Here in Brazil kinder eggs are pretty much everywhere, EVRYWER! So that makes sense xD
Downwending
I’ve seen them for sale at places like Walmart, but they were called something like surprise eggs.
jnoahj
They became legal last week so maybe that's what you're seeing?
PostNutDepression
I work at walmart, there are a shit ton by the registers. Some even have "Kinder" in the name.
hydrochlorothiazide
There are different kinds. The ones in America are not what's pictured here, mostly
stormegedendarklordofall
Well, the direct translation is "kids eggs" The "kid", I don't think it's possessive of the "eggs" though. I could be wrong though.
IrgendSoEinTyp
Kinder means kids but it's the brand. they are actually called Überraschungsei which would be surprise egg in English
Cool! I never knew that, thanks :)
Yeah, so I am talking about "Kinder Surprise" not wonderballs or knock offs. Kinder Buenos too. Yum yum!
dowingba
"Kinder Surprise" is what they are actually called.

There’s literally “kinder eggs” at my local walmart

Can't put non-food items in food. Myth states that it was because of choking; It's actually because of import laws (easy to smuggle stuff)

Too many of our little dumplings were left unsupervised with candy because their parents were just big dumplings with dough brains: choked.
Because of a 1938 law that existed decades before Kinder Eggs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Food,_Drug,_and_Cosmetic_Act
the12banch
The throat sized treat hidden inside of the candy egg. Canada has them.
Ziexoro
They aren't. We still have them. The toy = bottom of the box & candy = inside egg. Source: I work in grocery and I bought 2 when I saw them.
kapp70
They are illegal where I live in Louisville Kentucky. They have them aplenty in the international section at Valu Market.
skellington01
Kids were dying n schools all over and they tried to stop it.
BearicusMaximus
I know in Canada they are used to smuggle things into prison but I think it more likely they could choke kids is the cause for the ban
OhGodWhatShouldIType
Except that they are not illegal and you can get them here.
Shamwowser
They're off brand, they're legal to own in the U.S. but you've got to buy in Canada. I don't know how the off brand ones get away with it
Upvoter2000x
people here are too stupid to not choke to death on them
Because kids were getting hurt... but we kind of stopped at banning plastic eggs.
bobon123
Like most laws made for "safety of children", it is a way of protect local producer against foreign competition.
TanithRosenbaum
a choking hazard the rest of the world is unaffected from.
promnitedumpsterbaby
We can't have nice things
SuperNintendoEntertainmentSystem
Danger to kids. But obviously guns are fine despite the countless deaths. America is retarded.
Summonsays
Basically parents can't be bothered to watch their kids, so they just made them illegal.
djsdkdjsk
because fat people stuff whole eggs and they have food. or they accidentaly eat it and choke
dolphinsurprise
Because Mars candy co. lobbied against candy with items inside to ensure a reduction of competition.

It happens in other countries, the difference is the reaction. Seems like older cultures than ours don't overreact to some tragedies.
Other countries are more concerned about people shooting up their schools multiple times a year, than a chocolate covered toy.
The US is a pretty litigious country.
Gaelwyn
It’s because we’re repressed sexually. So we have to do other things for entertainment.
Thehumblebubble
It was fine until one mother's child went full retard and she blamed kinder eggs instead of herself when the kid ate the toy parts

Lots of countries have nonsensical illegalities. https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2015/11/australia-wont-get-nerfs-awesome-new-rival-blasters/
nanyatenyaa
There is a YouTube video on today I found out, why. Basically it has nothing directly to do with the eggs.
Some horrible shit happened where Some thing was put in something edible and tons of people died.
The response was that you can only put non edibles in food if they serve a purpouse in eating the food.
But it was a response to a direct health issue that the law would had otherwise prevented.
AceOfShovels
Kids are stupid so we chose to remove the danger instead of teach them to not be stupid.
JupitersWitch
FDA made it illegal to put non-food items in food because companoes would stupidly put toxic items or poison in food.

Also, they aren't illegal.

I wonder what the annual number of deaths are worldwide, from children swallowing these toys?
dachicken
not enough
Wiki says 3 total..
Probably less than kids swallowing bullets. But hey, Merica.
JustAnEightStoryTallCrustaceanFromThePaleolithicEra
Well considering there are 0 cases of that happening....
You took the swallowing part too seriously. But that is probably your thing.
bobziIIa
What about kids getting shot?
JustFuckingWatchCowboyBebop
It was a law that outlawed any non-food thing being placed in food, like the plastic toy inside a chocolate egg. Kids were choking.
Kelloggs9
Not exclusive to "kids". Gotta love America.
PirateRubberDuck
I think it was a law to stop pennies being put in Christmas pudding due to choking. Same rule applies to kinder eggs.
Bstone1
Yeah, once kids start dying is when we put our foot down as a nation.... /s
captainsweatypants
Kids shook themselves with guns a lot too
ProxyPlayerHD
ah Americans, to stupid to eat but sell weapons at each store and let their kids play with it
testzero
It's not a choking hazard, it's a matter of fraud. Like trying to sell 1 ounce of chocolate around a 6 ounce block as 7 ounces of chocolate.
Cypheri
Kinder eggs are pretty fucking clearly advertised as having a capsule with a toy inside. That's not an issue.
What do you want from me? I'm just reporting what I've heard. You want it changed? Vote.
ShootYourGooMyDude
Kinder eggs are way too big for even an adult to choke on.
GAngeldb
They are legal since 2011
CouchAndTable
Maybe we don't need those kids
Kids weren't choking. If that's so there wouldn't be any more children in my third world country that sells kinder surprise.
We still have kinders. They put the toy in the bottom of the box instead of the egg (candy).
DeathMetalOstrich
I don’t know whether it’s in the candy or not, but Walmart sells some type of Peppa Pig kinder egg
ILike2TouchButts
It's not the same.
I honestly didn't feel it mattered. You get the satisfaction from opening it from its yellow pill like egg. (like in the pic above).
I was confused at first how it was allowed - how it differed from my childhood. and I concluded it's a great compromise. It's worth it.
greenshamrox
Idiots* were choking
They were choking on parts that were taken out of the "food" part, not that they bite in to the whole thing.
KennDeDeDe
Kids are stupid

I never understand parents that bitch about their kids choking. We never had this issue when I lived in Germany, but in the US it was???

"kids were chocking" yeah I think it's called natural selection

And here, I believe, we have the last piece of the puzzle explaining the current US predicament. conclusion: Kinder Eggs keep politics sane.
SmallHandsBigPenis
If it worked like that the species would die out in a year.

And yet king cakes with the plastic baby are legal.
The babies are sold outside the cake to be inserted by the purchaser.
I know. And it's a fair distinction but still, conceptually similar.
tablecat
This honestly seems sensible to me. Blame stupid people all you want, having non-food items inside food just seems stupid.
CyberAkuma
Wait a minute though, I was gifted a "giant" Ferrero Rocher that was hollow and had a plastic shell inside last month.
mushycow
Notice the law is about appearance and not about size or likelihood of ingestion. The US government doesn't doesn't think we're very smart
effigyoma
To be fair, most of our regulations exist because one of us was stupid enough to do it
8gigsofshark
It's not about appearance. It's about "you can't put inedible things inside of edible things unless there's a functional reason"
They may be on to something. Look who we elected for POTUS.

the origonal law was to keep shit like sawdust out of flour, but it was vague enough to not specify "non-foods meant to be injested" 1/2
2/2 so the law blocks any encasement of non-food within food, regardless ifbit was meant to trick the consumer into paying more for less
RoryShade
It means there's a huge illegal smuggling trade of Kinder chocolate eggs from Canada into the US, they make a huge deal about (1/2)
confiscating it at the border and destroying it in front of you even if it's a chocolate egg. It counts as smuggling. (2/2)

Do remember that American kids aren't exactly bright. I watched one at work yesterday shove a mint up his nose then cry when it stuck/burned
It's just terrible parenting most likely from 90's kids.
upvoteforwhat
Right, because just american kids are that stupid....
OoWah
I am Canadian, and I have done exactly that when I was 6 or 7 years old. Kids do stupid shit all over the world. Sometimes adults too.
Bakakaze
All children are stupid, as an American the problem is not stupid kids it stupid parents.
This make more sense

Last night, at a hockey game, I watched a kid let his friend blow an air horn directly into his ear and then scream and cry afterwards.
Chocofreak13
It’s not about choking. It’s a law from the early 1900’s that was passed for quality control. Broken glass and rusty metal was in the food.
It’s bullshit for today’s standards, but it was never updated, which leads to the ban.
IamPeeved
I thought it was passed in the 1930's as a means of combating drug smuggling.
Seems we’re both right. I’m thinking of the Pure Food and Drug act (1906), you’re thinking of the Fed. Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (1938).
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pure_Food_and_Drug_Act
Neat!
Also seems the 1906 law, while it covered that, focused more on meat crossing state lines (and spoiling), and alcohol based cold medicine.

choking because of too big bites and almost no chewing is a very common cause of death in the US...
They don't. Kinder eggs aren't specifically banned, the FDA just declined to make an exception for them.

I don't know how old kinder eggs are but b4 I ever heard of them we had candies with other candy inside like hollow gumballs with Nerds or
Or the Nestle Wonderball which was a chocolate ball with hard candy inside. I can see a toddler mistaking a small piece of plastic for candy

depends, so you keep your rifle in reach of your children unsupervised and let them put the rifle in their mouth and suffocate on it?

Wouldn't this be a false equivalence? Kinder eggs, so far as I know, are illegal due to the rule against having non-edibles inside of 1/

a piece of food. Not because they were involved in mass murder. These would be equivalent if there was a kinder egg maniac who killed so 2/
HypnoChanger
many people with kinder eggs that we made them illegal. Otherwise, you're comparing a health/safety hazards to weapon regulations.
TysonGoesOutside
Fine have a kinder egg. But first go through this background check. And pay for this tax stamp. Make sure you store it safely.
TysonGoesOutside
Btw if anything at all bad happens you have to hear about how it's the kinder eggs fault and yours.

does "Semi-Automatic" mean "extra dangerous" or something to non-gun-people?
rollercostarican
it kind of is lol.You can get a lot more shots off more quickly than with a bolt action. But i think they mean fully automatic.

Try the sporting goods section, usually next to the fishing lures. You have to have someone unlock the case though
kloppybeans42
Who going around down voting anything to do with guns this is just a guy talking about where to get ammo lol
DClaub88
Depends where you live obviously.. every walmart around me sells guns. I but ammo at them regularly.
Bungulus
Some Walmart stores sell rifles and shotguns in their sporting goods departments. Especially common in the southeast US. (1/2)
Bungulus
Although the "semi-automatic" rifles they sell around me are small caliber rifles such as .22's and similar small game rounds.
williamp132
I checked and the only rifles they sell are air rifles.
Bungulus
They're not going to sell them online, but if you go a supercenter in the southeast, you will find some there.
kgbofficer
Depends on both location and size of the Walmart. One near me sells Semi-auto, bolt, and shotguns. I've been to some without any too.
Anthemius
As a non American, can you actually get semi automatic rifles at Walmart?
cabanabannana1
Depends on what are you're in. Some do, some don't.
Ginkawa
Yes, why would you not? What do non-gun-savvy people think "Semi-Automatic" means anyway?
Anthemius
1) I mean when I was in the British army it meant: self-loading firearm; one that not only fires a bullet each time the trigger is pulled.
Anthemius
2) But also performs all steps necessary to prepare it to discharge again. Perhaps that has changed.
Ginkawa
that seems a technically reasonable. I guess I just don't see why being able to get one would be something strange or surprising.
Anthemius
British gun laws are so strict that the Olympic rifle squad (?) have to train abroad. That's why it is surprising to us.

FuzzyX
Yes Congress made them lawful a few years ago by placing limitations on the toys to minimise choaking hazards.

skellington01
Kids were dying n schools all over and they tried to stop it.

I know in Canada they are used to smuggle things into prison but I think it more likely they could choke kids is the cause for the ban

There is a YouTube video on today I found out, why. Basically it has nothing directly to do with the eggs.
nanyatenyaa
Some horrible shit happened where Some thing was put in something edible and tons of people died.

The response was that you can only put non edibles in food if they serve a purpouse in eating the food.

But it was a response to a direct health issue that the law would had otherwise prevented.
AceOfShovels
Kids are stupid so we chose to remove the danger instead of teach them to not be stupid.

I wonder what the annual number of deaths are worldwide, from children swallowing these toys?
dachicken
not enough
StatmanIbrahimovic
Wiki says 3 total..
Imightbetrolling
Probably less than kids swallowing bullets. But hey, Merica.
JustAnEightStoryTallCrustaceanFromThePaleolithicEra
Well considering there are 0 cases of that happening....
Imightbetrolling
That's not an issue.
testzero
What do you want from me? I'm just reporting what I've heard. You want it changed? Vote.
ShootYourGooMyDude
Kinder eggs are way too big for even an adult to choke on.
GAngeldb
They are legal since 2011
CouchAndTable
Maybe we don't need those kids
ImAFoxButNotReally
Kids weren't choking. If that's so there wouldn't be any more children in my third world country that sells kinder surprise.
Ziexoro
We still have kinders. They put the toy in the bottom of the box instead of the egg (candy).
DeathMetalOstrich
I don’t know whether it’s in the candy or not, but Walmart sells some type of Peppa Pig kinder egg
ILike2TouchButts
It's not the same.
Ziexoro
I honestly didn't feel it mattered. You get the satisfaction from opening it from its yellow pill like egg. (like in the pic above).
Ziexoro
I was confused at first how it was allowed - how it differed from my childhood. and I concluded it's a great compromise. It's worth it.
greenshamrox
Idiots* were choking
pareidoliaperson
They were choking on parts that were taken out of the "food" part, not that they bite in to the whole thing.
KennDeDeDe
Kids are stupid
moomomomomooomo
Teen pregnancy rate skyrocketed, too
noxdracoria
I thought it was first to stop marketing food to kids by taking the 'prizes' out, then for safety later (contamination or choking hazards).
Maitrify
Darwinism is a bitch
missnym
I never understand parents that bitch about their kids choking. We never had this issue when I lived in Germany, but in the US it was???
missnym
Like dang, just pay attention to what your kid is eating and regulate the sizes correctly.
Saddamhuss
"kids were chocking" yeah I think it's called natural selection
HomunculusSr
And here, I believe, we have the last piece of the puzzle explaining the current US predicament. conclusion: Kinder Eggs keep politics sane.
SmallHandsBigPenis
If it worked like that the species would die out in a year.
OrC23
And yet king cakes with the plastic baby are legal.
myselfasme
The babies are sold outside the cake to be inserted by the purchaser.
OrC23
Gaelwyn
They may be on to something. Look who we elected for POTUS.
furrypronz
Clap clap clap now everyone on imgur knows how smart and thoughtful you are! Here’s your ribbon! ?
StrangelyGrimm
I feel like no matter what we're talking about, someone always finds a way to change the conversation to Donald Trump.
Gaelwyn
Just pointing out our collective idiocy. It’s the most obvious indicator currently.
izzmonster
Thats not true. The real reason is way sadder.

20 minute video... got the gist at 8:30-10:00 for how the UK dealt with it and 2 kids died but you just said "Worse," Can you elaborate?
izzmonster
Worse
CassiusPolybius
What, they got expelled?
tarst
Like 6 kids died. BAN KINDER EGGS
tarst
A classroom full of kindergarten kids is dead but we don’t have a gun problem it’s a mental health problem

MyDogLovesKush
American kids get chocked? If this was real in Europe it would be a massacre. It isn't
unicorninmypants
Or choked.
MyDogLovesKush
illogicalphallusies
the origonal law was to keep shit like sawdust out of flour, but it was vague enough to not specify "non-foods meant to be injested" 1/2
illogicalphallusies
2/2 so the law blocks any encasement of non-food within food, regardless ifbit was meant to trick the consumer into paying more for less
RoryShade
It means there's a huge illegal smuggling trade of Kinder chocolate eggs from Canada into the US, they make a huge deal about (1/2)
RoryShade
confiscating it at the border and destroying it in front of you even if it's a chocolate egg. It counts as smuggling. (2/2)
HorsesAreLikeWalkingCouchesWithAnxiety
Do remember that American kids aren't exactly bright. I watched one at work yesterday shove a mint up his nose then cry when it stuck/burned
destess
It's just terrible parenting most likely from 90's kids.
upvoteforwhat
Right, because just american kids are that stupid....
OoWah
I am Canadian, and I have done exactly that when I was 6 or 7 years old. Kids do stupid shit all over the world. Sometimes adults too.
Bakakaze
All children are stupid, as an American the problem is not stupid kids it stupid parents.
MyDogLovesKush
This make more sense
smackedup
Last night, at a hockey game, I watched a kid let his friend blow an air horn directly into his ear and then scream and cry afterwards.
Chocofreak13
It’s not about choking. It’s a law from the early 1900’s that was passed for quality control. Broken glass and rusty metal was in the food.
Chocofreak13
It’s bullshit for today’s standards, but it was never updated, which leads to the ban.
IamPeeved
I thought it was passed in the 1930's as a means of combating drug smuggling.
Chocofreak13
Seems we’re both right. I’m thinking of the Pure Food and Drug act (1906), you’re thinking of the Fed. Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (1938).
Chocofreak13
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pure_Food_and_Drug_Act
IamPeeved
Neat!
Chocofreak13
Also seems the 1906 law, while it covered that, focused more on meat crossing state lines (and spoiling), and alcohol based cold medicine.

zalan26
I just don't understand how they eat the WHOLE EGG IN ONE BITE.
AnalSexInTheWoodsDontMakeBabies
Mmmmmmerica
RecurringNightmare
choking because of too big bites and almost no chewing is a very common cause of death in the US...
8gigsofshark
They don't. Kinder eggs aren't specifically banned, the FDA just declined to make an exception for them.
8gigsofshark
Our king cakes also have the baby jesus on top of the cake... you can put him in it yourself if you want but the stores can't sell like that
JeremyBeadlesStrongerHand
Because the steroids in the milk they drink makes them into giants.

goodisunpopular
I don't know how old kinder eggs are but b4 I ever heard of them we had candies with other candy inside like hollow gumballs with Nerds or
goodisunpopular
Or the Nestle Wonderball which was a chocolate ball with hard candy inside. I can see a toddler mistaking a small piece of plastic for candy
shmachero
Toddler, pssht, I can see a 48 year old doing that.
BlackTwitterRep
Have you seen us Americans lately ???
Quaigg
Weve always been like this. Internet has made it so we can see it easier. Different topics, different hate, different times.
BlackTwitterRep
I️ don’t know man..... I️ think we’re a bit heavier now days
Squirrelprophecies
As someone who lives outside the internet, I only remember one really obese person from my childhood. They're everywhere now.
