Fuck Apple. People try to get in there for years. 3-4 interviews to not be hired. If you already have a job, sometimes you need to take off work to schedule the interview. Then to be left hanging. Doing their job, and following up with them despite them saying they will do so. I had a person interviewing me once and she said that she had spent 3 years trying to get into Apple. That is wild to me.

I was getting ghosted all the back in the early 90's. Employers suck, and then they wonder why we have no loyalty at all and will leave as soon as we can.

I've interviewed for two positions at one of my top choice of companies and both times they said they'd be getting together the paperwork and be in touch in a day or two. Both times ghosted. But I won't be snarky the next time because I *really* want to work there. But goddamn.

I honestly prefer being ghosted. When I was unemployed I sent out 80+ applications per day for almost a year. If you email me a week after we interviewed, I will have already forgotten that interview took place anyway and I don't want you cluttering my mailbox with rejections I can't take action on.

god it ramped up recently too. I work in IT and I have an *okay* job now. pay is great but commute long, so I'm looking for better closer. I used to have no problem getting interviews and hired right after, but now I have 13 years professional experience in the field and even mid entry positions seem to grit teeth at the idea of a perfect match for them. In 2024 I left a job after 6 years and got hired within 2 days, in 2018 I spent just 7 days looking for a job I was working for for 3 years.

I worked for years then went to college full time for degrees and graduated in 2019. Thought w exp and degrees I'd get hired fast. Got 1 interview then nothing. Realized fast all the scammers abound. Then realized I had to plug my ed into my work history bc people asked why i had a gap...they didn't make it to ed part. Smh. Then realized if i didn't look "employed" current month nobody would contact me. So i always added a project or ed to my work history every month to keep the interviews going

Oh wow, okay, we're really starting from the basics here. Light does not behave as matter does. Two objects passing head on at the same velocity pass eachother at double that velocity relative to the other. When two beams of light pass each other the relative speed is not 2•c, it is c. The speed of light it a limit that cannot be matched - from either direction. This also means it is impossible for light to move faster or slower (in a given media), its velocity is constant.

Easy enough for them to lie their way out of those charges, unfortunately. They likely are actually understaffed, and most of the workers would attest that they need more help, so the job postings can be justified. As far as never actually hiring someone, they can just claim that they didn't find what they were looking for in a candidate, and lie about why each one didn't fit the criteria.

My goodness, "they" are so fortunate that no shareholder has EVER determined this. Even given the vast swaths of info from Bloomberg terminals [and even better/worse subscriptions], Nikkei, US financial disclosure rules, actually serious EU financial transparency rules - odd that keeps happening. Almost as if you're trying to make a nice, clean scapegoat for a complicated matter.
