Good for heifers they can be out and very well socialized, but allso i can see poor diet, based to hair quality. Looks around 1yo old and if diet is balanced hair should be smooth and shiny, there should be more protein. Hair in back of legs is allso dirty, there shoud be more straws, hay or similar where animals are sleeping. But if they are rescued to better place where these needs are fullfilled, idk.

No, basic rule with calfs and heifers is, if hair is not smooth and shiny under 8mo they lack energy (grains) and over 8mo they lack protein. Animals who are raised outside have thicker hair, but it allso should be smooth and shiny hair. Salt and minerals is nice to have, but young animals manage without.
I have dairy farm and wonedered why calfs after weaning getting fluffy but still grow littlebit too fat and fluffy. This was main reason and now looking better after diet correction.

All living things must die, their bodies will be broken down and SOMETHING will feed on them. Left alone, male cows will kill each other until theirs a 30/1 ratio. If we did not eat them, 29 of every 30 bulls would just die and rot in a field. There is NOTHING unethical about eating cow meat… however there is absolutely no reason cows should not have good decent lives up until slaughter time

Eh. To an extent. The more they move and frolic and stuff the less tender their muscle becomes. You get an animal that's lived a good happy life where it's got to play and run around and whatnot and the meat's gonna be tough, chewy, and unpleasant. Really, the best way to get good tasting tender meat is to grow the meat directly instead of harvesting it from an animal.

Totally down for that! Listened to a science podcast saying they aren't far from taking a sample from a *living* animal then lab replicating that meat. So one non-killed cow could lab grow the rest of our meat forever. Very good news!

Well, if it finally becomes widespread, then we won't need cattle anymore. Less cattle, means less methane production and less water used for cattle raising. Good for the environment, bad for corporate meat profits in the short-run. So naturally, not gonna happen.
