The book is mostly terrible but there's an amazing "zoo of death" bit, and a romance for Inigo.

I have a black Malbu RS (not a common sub model). I like to find white RS's and tell them I'm their evil twin.

You know the answer when they look back, narrow their eyes, then smile and slowly lift up the cutest little tail waggin' dog.

Have you noticed Cary Elwes almost never blinks in this film? Great actor but it's weird. Even coming up out of sand. No blink. Disturbing!

4 years ago | Likes 285 Dislikes 2

He's giving "the smolder" his best shot.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's great acting on film advice from Michael Caine

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

iirc, Jack Nicholson did this (on purpose) in The Shining

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

…great now I can’t watch it again till I forget this ?? thanks

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's kind of a fairy tale, if I'm not wrong.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Elwes does this in Psych, too. It's unsettling as hell.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I would definitly not call him a "great" actor. BUT he is definitly very entertaining and good in his types of roles. "Great" is much more

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m the same. People have mentioned it to me before. It’s just a natural thing. Some people just don’t blink often! I do notice it sometimes

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

You should watch RDJ's eyes in Sherlock Holmes. Same thing bugged me with him in that movie.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Wow I never noticed. Thanks for the excuse to watch it again.

Discombobulate

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sherlock was a known drug addict.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yeah, canon or not, it still bugs me.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

And l never saw him carry any elves either. What a tease.

I noticed this with *every character* in Showgirls; just assumed it was the massive amounts of Colombian Shouting Powder they got through.

4 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

As a Colombian, I approve this message.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

"Colombian Shouting Powder"

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It’s a technique championed by Michael Caine, if I remember. Blinking shows vulnerability and actors playing strong characters will avoid it

This comment and the link afterwards are really awesome education. Thank you so much!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You got it!!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do you think it was on purpose? I could see that being one of those small character details

4 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 1

I wouldn’t think so. That’s a very difficult thing to train. I don’t blink much and people have commented. Think it’s just a natural quirk.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I could see him making the choice to do it to try and make the character seem more intense

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are you suggesting he is a lizard man?

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Most definitely.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now I want to watch Princess Bride and count how many times he blinks... I MUST KNOW!

4 years ago | Likes 146 Dislikes 2

I did it but I'm not going to reveal the number. It's more fun for everybody to just look at how weird it is.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Make it a drinking game lulz

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Lol!!! Never thought of this idea. Awesome

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

any excuse to watch princess bride is ok

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Better not let us down because I now have the urge to know as well

4 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I got 23 blinks. Not sure if I got them all but I tried! MY EYES ARE BURNING NOW!

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Thank you homie

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Most boring drinking game ever

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Well, not "boring" because you're still watching Princess Bride.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

If you do this, please tell me the number

4 years ago | Likes 68 Dislikes 0

I counted 23 blinks from Cary Elwes... I feel like I may have missed some though. I think I blinked less than that while trying to count!

4 years ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 0

Now I'm over blinking, thinking about all of this blinking!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

WOW even if you were off by a few that’s still an impressive number. Thanks for following through, I’m impressed!

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

For sure! Watching on Amazon Prime now!

4 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

Can we trust the @DalaiLlama ? This is the true lesson here.

4 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I did my best and counted 23. I'm all for someone double checking because it was difficult to tell sometimes.

4 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

As a frame of reference, humans blink 15-20 times per min. Elwes is onscreen for 40.13 mins. So we should expect roughly 602-803 blinks.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Although some shots will likely be from angles or distances that make counting difficult if not impossible.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I got 23 blinks. It really did seem like he was trying hard not to blink throughout the film.
