Andrews had to leave MUSC after Mace attacked her with anti-trans rhetoric which lead to death threats against Andrews, her family, and MUSC forcing Andrews to take a leave of absence in which she was "not invited" back to her position.
Basically, the hospital acted like all heartless corps, saw her as a liability and cut ties.

MUSC might have saved my life a few times, but they're clearly no longer interested in being a force for good and haven't been for a long time. The doctors, nurses and physicians who work there are still good people and healers first, I'm sure, but the hospital as a whole unit is now very obviously a business first, and one that is trying desperately to take over every medical facility in the state.
None of this changes the qualifications and candidacy of Andrews, of course.
