To be fair, almost any version of Batman would do this, not just Absolute.

I feel like an older batman would be more civilized. He would have Alfred bitch slap him.

Love the sentiment, but the art is atrocious in absolute batman.

That's just, like, your opinion man. Also, this is from the Absolute Batman Annual 1, which has a different artist than the normal comic. (Annual's artist is Daniel Warren Johnson, the normal comic's artist is Nick Dragotta)

Hey, it ain't that guy who doesn't know anatomy. I forget his name, though...

Even Joker wants nothing to do with Nazis.

Absolutely!

Aye.

By Daniel Warren Johnson, who should be allowed to do any comic he wants.

Annual #1

Side note, the comics are finally about to have Absolute Wonder Woman meet up with Absolute Batman. They released an image of them meeting face to face. She's taller than him by a fair margin. And I need you all to understand, Absolute Batman is built different. He's a Batman who is 6'9" and 421 lbs of pure vigilante muscle. And Absolute Wonder Woman is still bigger than he is.

This isn't a death by snu-snu situation. She's a full on murder by too vigorous a handshake. Either way, gyat-damn

Yep. I really dislike the art style, but they made Bats blue collar, I assume because it got to be too tiresome trying to excuse his billionaire status in some way that made moral sense, and I see here that he likes to maim Nazis so I may have to investigate the matter more closely

Which Art Style??? Dragotta's or Johnson's ???Because Johnson only drew the single Annual Dragotta is the actual artist on the book

They flipped his origin because the whole purpose of the absolute universe is the new god darkseid soul/entity created a whole new universe where none of the heroes have their positive/advantage origins. They wanted to tell new stories where it’s harder and more challenging for the heroes when the entire world is against them. On the opposite side of this all villains have the advantages as they reign supreme in their roles.

My only problem is they kept some of his stuff that only makes sense with access to infinite money, and they just explained it away with "ah, well, he's an engineer, so he just, uh, did that"

I've only watched a quick YouTube run down so I know very little, but I will say the Batmobile being a piece of construction equipment really kinda hurt the believability for me, like...that shit probably cost more than some of the actual Batmobiles...there were cooler and more attainable options given this characters stated resources

Yeah he stole it from the white supremacist he's beating the fuck out in the panel above

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Afaik, it was... A special acquisition. So, much like his no kill rule, no theft wasn't always on the table either

I mean if he's robbing large corporations I'm right back on board. I guess I just need to read a few issues and see what's up.

Especially since somehow he mamaged to make the entire thing able to drive and function underwater on the bottom of Gotham harbor, AND keep it fueled.

Yeah I like some of the underlying concepts...but the whole thing just has this vibe of like late 90s early 2000s EXTREEEEEME flavor...which I found tiresome the first time around and definitely don't have the patience for now
