I always think about playing one of the games and Peter had lost almost everything but he's got a pizza and a moment to chill and he goes for a bite and boom, something else comes up and I was like FOR FUCK'S SAKE LET THE GODDAMNED KID HAVE A SLICE OF PIZZA! Never been so angry on behalf of a game character before, but damned if that game didn't get the mythology correct.
At least some of his problems are kind of fun. Hold on world's sexiest redhead who is head over heels for me (MJ). I need to chase this absolute goddess of a blonde girl (Black Cat) across the rooftops while she flirts with me and oh look a silver haired cougar is looking to step on me again (Sable).
It's a job with no glory or reward, and quite often you'll suffer rather than benefit. All you can do is keep telling yourself that you're helping people, and maybe try to have fun on the job.
No reward indeed. There was a Donald Duck comic where, in his superhero alter ego, he was hanging out with fellow superheroes from neighboring cities. One was getting up there in the years and worried because all that time doing volunteer work as a hero was taking a lot of his time and resources, and meant his retirement savings weren't so great.
They got together and decided to ask the mayors for a pension. Not regular wages, just a retirement pension to cover them when they're old. 1/2
Every. Single. Mayor said no, called them ingrates and suggested that they should be thankful they get to handle all the incidents the police can't for free.
Donald and his buddies said "Alright fine, we'll just stop being superheroes then" and the mayors folded.. Only to start conspiring together to put down insane requirements on them to force the heroes to back off their demand.
Fight supervillains every week for free, ask for a small retirement pension like any cop would get, and yeah..
I've been watching clips of Columbo recently, and I have this scenario playing out in my head where Columbo catches a guy who murdered the CEO of a health care company because the guy was denying coverage. Very much like Luigi didn't do.
Naturally Columbo catches the killer, but the episode ends with the killer shaming Columbo for catching one person who killed one person, while hundreds of rich people murder thousands each day...
Here i was trying to forget Toby spider ever happened. As a spider man comic reader from back in the day miles morales is the only acceptable spider man on the big screen.
Shinji Tôdô. But Nicholas Hammond (who’s like 76 now) would make more sense because he actually played Peter Parker, whereas Tôdô’s character in Japanese Spider-Man was a completely different character: Takuya Yamashiro.
The moment where Holland Spidey is about to kill Green Goblin and Toby Spidey jumps in and stops him and the look on his face just saying "No, this isn't us, this isn't what we do" man that got me good

Sony? Is it a Disney post?

By comparison, Toby could buy a car, a house, and pay off his student loans.

Seeing the two older Spideys helping out Holland was awesome. Would love if they could get that dude from the Japanese spider-man show too

Wasn't he referenced in Spiderverse? I could be misremembering, but even Spoderman made it in there and he was just an ms paint meme.
