Since I've seen a few folk getting very pissy about people happy that Kirk's dead...
beefsteak73
Celebrating his life is far more vulgar than celebrating the end of it.
graehall
Dude not only wanted to see me and my community suffer and die, he actively advocated for it. He deserves to be forgotten, fast
TofuGolem
Remember when Pelosi's husband was attacked with a hammer in the middle of the night, and instead of being horrified, Republicans speculated that it was a homosexual lover and laughed about it? If we are going to be accused of being just as bad no matter what we do, we might as well be just as bad.
The shooter was almost certainly Charlie Kirk's disgruntled homosexual lover. It is funny that he got shot.
sadurdaynight
The ant mound has been kicked, and they want you to both a) feel sorry for them while b) wanting to use it as an excuse to murder you. The conservative response is a pendulum swinging on the spike of self-centeredness.
battousai124
No, they do not, especially not, if they believe in the same rhetoric he spewed
enderite
Every political turn or change in the US is a direct result of violence.
Jackthwolf
He helped create the very system that killed him.
There's not much more to say then that.
HelikaformerNubisKnight9
Said it before: Not happy about his death, but honoring his words and don't directing bad woke empathy on his death. I reserve my wokeness and empathy for those who want&need it.
RedSkizzers
The white-washing of Kirk has turned my stomach. It makes me realize that this will happen to every right wing demon when they finally pass, and we need to steer away from the "all life is sacred" position asap. When we finally get the Big Beautiful Obituary I get the feeling there'll still be the same woke-scolds telling people "He was a grandfather and a husband! How could you celebrate his death just because you didn't like him?!"
Kirk was actively evil. The world is a better place today.
beefsteak73
Lord Jesus, I see what you did for Muammar Ghadaffi and I want that for Trump
ToSisPoS
I look back a couple weeks and recall no one was scolding anyone about how they reacted to Ozzy’s death, but pearls were clutched because Hulk Hogan’s death was met with … less grief.
PballQhead
I won't give him the dignity of celebrating his death. All he gets from me is indifference, that's truly the lowest form of emotional response.
TNSCLuotaMEa4fVN
You go girl! I'm a 79 y/o grandad, and I'v got your back!
Aristocrats
I bought a fucking chocolate mousse cake.
TharrickLawson
I treated myself to pizza and a sizeable chunk of chocolate
Aristocrats
It's the little things. Like when you make an old fashioned using maple syrup instead of simple syrup.
thekeyofe
Saying "don't speak ill of the dead" when the dead in question was a colossal sack of shit is an abuse tactic.
Cataleast
I've never understood that whole thing. If someone was an arsehole, why would I pretend otherwise after they die? They hadn't earned my respect in life, why should they do so in death? Is it because I need to be empathetic towards the feelings of their loved ones? Sure, I'm not going to go out of my way to rub it in their faces or anything like that, but I'm not gonna pretend the dead arsehole was anything more than that: an arsehole. The fact that they're dead doesn't change that.
piratecaptainwendy
His what? "Advocacy?" For being a piece of shit? Nah. Dead Nazis = Joy. No takebacks. More of this please. When the military has made it's choice, well, there's a whole thing about this in the ...what's it called again, Declaration of Independence? Allowing this shit to go on? THAT is what's fucking immoral.
fiddlewheelx
Imo, he deserved a hard kick in the nuts and a broken nose, and some jail time.
Not murder. That just escalates.
And Trump wants that, and plays by Putins playbook.
powerrangerpl
He got some taste of his own poison. Sending thoughts and prayers. I hope he rots in hell.
TomBrokaw
You shouldn't be getting downvoted for your opinion, especially on this post, even if a lot of people on imgur disagree with you (including myself). You stated your opinion and provided your reasoning, but did not tell anyone else how to feel.
Cataleast
What else is a downvote than someone thinking "I disagree with this comment" and expressing their opinion?

TomBrokaw
Fair point, hard to argue against that. I'm probably splitting hairs about downvote intent. I'd prefer to see a written counter but I understand that's not always going to happen.

That is a concise rephrasing of my last sentence, thank you.

Two things can be true at the same time:
1) A terrible act was perpetrated.
2) Nothing of value was lost.
Xenarion
Agreed.
Crowlands
Shame he couldn't have been defeated peacefully, but the fact he couldn't was his own choice.
If a better method had been possible, I'd have supported it.
As is, I hope his death was swift.
AllTheKitties
Yes, this precisely. I'd rather he have been silenced or learned better or maybe we could have hopped into a reality he didn't exist in. I'm just glad he was stopped. The fact that it took his death to stop him sucks, but as you say, that was his choice. He could have stopped at any moment, and I would have celebrated it if he had.
PballQhead
Having seen the video, he absolutely went mercifully fast. Not quite hit in the brainstem, but a few seconds at worst.
Hexidimentional
You cannot defeat nazis peacefully, we all agreed on this in the 1940s
taez555
Violence never solves anything, says the country that started a war for their independence. Or dropped two nukes on Japan.
Randazzo
Random violence never solves anything.
taez555
True. Preparation is key.
snwcone
The country actively doing a genocide in Palestine
CptRobotNinja
This nation was founded on political violence and has spent the majority of it's history enthusiastically engaged in violence all around the world. Violence has been our national pass time since our inception.
gobblinal
The purpose of violence should be to END violence.
stayingalive4life
To be fair, violence is a human nature thing. I don’t think countries, race, nationality, gender, religious beliefs, etc had anything to do with it.
doccynical
That's actively kidnapping people to deport or store in concentration camps. That celebrates a ghoul of a governor burning people's property with a tv crew. That funds genocide in hopes that the leader can profit off the newly acquired land.
taez555
Today's the 24th anniversary of 9/11. The United States is still holding people at Guantanamo Bay who, since the fall of that year, that have still never been charged with a crime. Nearly 1/4 century in jail without a trial.
doccynical
But but only bad Russia and terrible Chi-na have political prisoners, even though the cheeto deeply respects their leaders and is great friends with them.
dogboybastard
and REGULARLY uses violence to solve things
Goldensands
And more regularly to fk things up, including themselves and the future.
EverNotRelevant
"Violence against the establishment never solves anything!" -the establishment
taez555
"Let's not question the election, let's wait for evidence." The propaganda machine on-line is strong.
EverNotRelevant
Questioning without evidence is just speculation tho

A summary of Kirk's positions:

I'm not sure I can smoke enough weed to die from it, but I can think of worse ways to go.
(Gallows humor is a family tradition)

needs sources. People will never believe these things.
bippityboppitybuttsex
I am not trying to convince people... if they are interested they can look them up... none of these are secret... some are linked above... some have been posted on here, individually, repeatedly over the past 24 hours.
Here is a source on him calling for patriots to bail out the Pelosi attacker... https://www.kron4.com/news/bay-area/charlie-kirk-once-called-for-patriot-to-bail-out-paul-pelosi-assailant-david-depape/
bippityboppitybuttsex
Here's his comment on people being scared to see a black pilot: https://www.newsweek.com/charlie-kirk-black-pilots-racism-accusations-1863546
Here is a collection of quotes https://www.npr.org/2025/09/11/nx-s1-5537908/political-violence-charlie-kirk and I will highlight just one:
bippityboppitybuttsex
"Of former TV personality Joy Reid, former first lady Michelle Obama, late Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson: “They’re coming out, and they’re saying, ‘I’m only here because of affirmative action.’ Yeah, we know. You do not have the brain processing power to otherwise be taken really seriously. You had to go steal a white person’s slot to be taken somewhat seriously.”
HandoB4Javert
TharrickLawson
Bingo. Personally I feel the world is a better place without him in it
OhIfIMust
Indeed.
bippityboppitybuttsex
I mean, probably... I don't want anyone hurt... but I am also not going to feel sympathy for those who go out of their way to make the world worse.
RevengeIsIceCream
Here's an (IMO) clearer version: /gallery/9nU2HKp#ZsxTt1I
RevengeIsIceCream
oh ffs. Here.
Xenarion
I don't doubt it, but I'd love to have sources for all of those.
bippityboppitybuttsex
I am not doing homework for you. Google them.
Xenarion
The burden of proof is on the person making the claim.
bippityboppitybuttsex
Zero of these are secrets he held, he was out and open with his beliefs.. he had a podcast with thousands of hours of hate speech, racism, anti-LGBTQ comments, statements that gays should be put to death.
I will do one for you: He said, the Bible verse Leviticus 20:13, which endorses the execution of homosexuals, serves as “God’s perfect law when it comes to sexual matters.”

bridgebrain
Source: His podcast. Google transcripts for each one (not in quotes because they're summarized), it'll pull right up
Xenarion
I figured something like that. It's just easier to give that info to people less inclined to believe it if I have proper sources.
bridgebrain
Good on you for still trying. I've long found that presenting facts to those already unconvinced by everything so far is pointless. Like, if you say "he was a rabid trump supporter and here are his stances", someone either already believes you, or will never believe you. The already believer might put in token resistance for evidence, but they've already made up their mind.
Xenarion
The point of a public debate isn't to convince the other party, it's to convince people listening in.
