50 pounds for some shade and a disappointing fan? No thanks.
JohnPtempkinReborn
Simple physics suggests that he might be generating more heat carrying that thing around than losing from the electricity generated ...

That is around 20kg of panel making fifty times more power than the fan needs.

he’s so disorganized in hoe ing the ditch
craycray606
Something something green energy
fractalsphere
Clever, but I wonder how much that weighs vs how much fan air he's getting. Tho at least he's in the shade.
PanNonOpticon
That is seriously underrated fan. A regular table fan is 30 watts. That solar panel is at minimum 50 watts.
Hambonerhandy
You don't need a panel nearly that big. I was like 12 and mowing lawns I made a hat with a computer fan and a small 4x6 panel to charge
A battery. Only ever had to manually recharge it once. And this was way back when panel tech was garbage.

That job requires a lot of energy. Where does he get it all? ooohhhhh....

Barfolemewtenderbeans
I wonder how many gigawatts this guy contributes to the grid.
Hapsdinersdumpsterfire
Besides what this post is about, I'm really nervous that he's getting so fucking close to his feet with that hoe....
isthisjunkmail
I mean...if it’s stupid, but it works...?!
That fan in front of him? That's powered by a single cell. No need to carry a whole module on your back that generates more heat than shade.
DonntMindMe
At first I thought it was aDOORable, but then I realized what a BRIGHT idea it was and now I'm a FAN!
TerribleAwful
not sure this is worth the hype. that might be providing shade but the fan is not blowing this guy off
ExpectedDickbuttGotDickbutt
You’re throwing shade?
ihateyouallandyouhatemetoo
can confirm. once blew a guy off because he said he was famous.

You must have a very special relationship with your hammer.

needs GF/MF for blowing
TitillatingPterodactyl
You’re not a big fan?
EnzoGlitch
That's cause that's not his only fan
rijstewafels
The only way a fan is going to blow you is if you're famous
Freakayou
Nickelplatsch
You only need ONE fan for that. Being a twitch streamer with single digit viewers might be sufficient.
coalminersknuckle
Noksus
I just plug mine into the wall socket and it's been blowing me all day.
WishIWasHighOnPotenuse
Do you get shocked when doing that while she’s still blowing you?
Please don't assume the gender of my fan!
clamdriver
I just hope that poor bastard didn’t pay anything for that.
msd3k
I'd guess this is performative jackassery.
MaddogDelphi1997
I'd be willing to bet it's not even hooked up right to the solar panel.
JackingMeHoff
Perhaps the panel is charging the vibrating dildo up his ass
Lovethesmelloftoastedsourdoughbread
ChuckKarma
Seriously, tho, that panel puts out 300W peak, 100W at an oblique angle, so you *should* be able to mount a pretty tornadic boxfan on there.
stercusmoriturussum
The back of the panel is also hot as fuck - and could provide enough power to run a couple of large floor fans.
blaghart
Looks like he's got a heat reflective frame on it to help dissipate the heat around him. I imagine w/ the fan it's not AS hot...
Hurro
I would say it's probably only good for 400W, and you'd still need to lug the inverter around and whatnot. Best to get a DC fan.
ElbowDeepInUserSub
So you're saying this needs a standoff brace... and a couple of box fans?
Detoc
and a mini-fridge.
SpecialOedipus
The solar panel would just make him hotter lmao, those things can get up to 150 F in the sun.
MADchemEE
Just need a little insulation from conducted heat. He might get, 100w from that panel, optimistically?
alexburgers
so powering a little 5 watt propeller seems like a massive waste. There's better ways.
IMakeLotsOfReferencesAndRemakes
Maybe not available to him... but yeah flexible solar cells that weigh less as a hood and an inverter to make it actually provide voltage1/2
to run a fan at speed and you COULD have decent cooling with no batteries and save the weight for carrying some water instead. 2/2
Sickmindsmakehistory
Not to forget that they weigh around 17-20 kilo's
mmontour
It keeps the direct sun off him. It could be improved with some more spacers and shiny metal foil on the underside of the panel.
ligmabolz
He needs to attach an AC to his chest
temposaur
Yeah, but just like he said, those panels as hot as hell
Not sure what foil would do on the underside either. I used to install solar parking structures in AZ /
110 on the ground was cooler than being a foot under the arrays on a scissor lift.
It blocks radiative heat transfer.
In windows, yes...
