Dissonance, even by half a step, in chords is perfectly normal and in the right context can be quite beautiful even in a totally traditional sense. Perfect pitch is pretty fake as well. I was classically trained and in the industry for a good while and even the most "perfect" example I could find was someone who just had great recall and was easily confused after listening to a song pitched 100 cents or so up or down. I can generally hit D if I think about Ode to Joy. Just recalling the tune.
I wonder if perfect pitch makes jazz less enjoyable. Also, dissonance of half note steps is perfectly acceptable in modern music. Maybe Mr f and f# is a baroque living dinosaur.

I never knew her well, but I have met her (went to the same college around the same time). She's super nice and super talented. Glad to see she's making it with her music.
