They can live 15 years or more. Beef cattle get butchered before 2 except for females that are used for breeding which is around 12 years. Dairy cows aren't butchered until their milk procuction decreases, usually no more than 6 years. McDonalds buys more "old" dairy cows than anyone I think . Veal is produced using calves fed lots of milk so they are butchered before maturity. Don't eat veal, please.

Its a feeding stand, plop a bale of hay into it, keeps the cows from making too much of a mess. But theres no reason for them to have a bottom so dude got up under it.

I mean its not like this happens all the time, plus then youd have to clean a bunch of drool soaked hay out of the bottom corners before putting new hay in instead of just flipping it up and rolling it a few feet. I think right here you can see the pile it was probably originally on top of next to another feeder.

Dude got up under it? It was probably mostly empty and not on perfectly level ground or something and he was monching on some hay sticking out from under the edge and stuck his head under it and just kept going forward until it went up over their back? IDK, cows are big and dumb and its obvs not that very heavy for it. Just this but bigger.
