Queen of Beers

Dude. You just made Freddie's music boring. People! Shame this man!

What Queen song would a Cuntry "star" cover?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ah yes, a country singer using either two first names or two last names.

I don't know much, but a band of men called "queen" is clearly about revering the monarchy and upstanding Conservative values.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just a good old-fashioned lover boy.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

What the fuck kind of name is Brantley? That sounds like a joke name someone made up when making fun of how millennials name their kids.

3 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

It was the name of Michael J Fox's character in "The Secret Of My Success".

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Again they so obtuse that they can't even comprehend that they are being so easily manipulated. Where ever Fox News points them, that's where they will blindly go until they get spun around and pointed to some new stupid boycott of the week to go after with no knowledge of anything.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I kind of would like to know more about this case, as the header could be a bit manipulative itself.

"Following his conversation with Urban, Gilbert not only was able to give up alcohol, but he also credits the “Wild Hearts” singer with saving his life.

“If it weren’t for him, I don’t know if I’d be sober or be in this business anymore. I’d probably be dead,” he said."

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have been seeing more and more people are transphobes, that aren't homophobes. Freddie would have told him to stop playing his music, either way. I wonder if Queen will send him a cease and desist letter on doing covers of their music?

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

The Gays have become Too Powerful now, so they needed to switch their open attacks to a more marginalized group with less support.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, there is no such distinction. These bigot are scared of anything and everything they don't understand. But you have to remember that public statements from such scum are made to specific audiences, each one tailored to arouse fear, confusion and anger in other bigots. That means they'll usually focus on whatever is currently driving the conversation in their echo chambers. Today, that means trans people.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No I mean I work with a lot of right wing older people that are perfectly fine with gays, but this fear and hatred they have of trans is unreal. One of them even said, "Now that they can marry, they are alright. Since they are in a committed relationship." Never mind they were against it before.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That comes with familiarity. From exposure to the thing they fear. They didn't change, they're still scared of everything they don't understand, they have just attained some understanding of gay people. In both cases, the mindset is the same, defensive, paranoid.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I think that we overuse the term “Star” in the context of both country music and pornography

3 years ago | Likes 124 Dislikes 3

I have never heard of him because I dislike country music. But he has 4 #1 songs and an impressive list of awards. He is a bona fide star. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brantley_Gilbert

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

See this is a good discussion opener. I wholeheartedly agree.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

But don't pornstars star in movies?

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

For all movies, I feel like people just perform. Only some are stars. But, what do I know?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Starring in a movie/show means being one of the main performers.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Look at the sky at night. Some stars are brighter than others. Some you don't see buts another person's favorite. This metaphor is getting away from me a little but I hope you get it.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I will take it

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think "star" as a name for all the twinkly dots on the night sky when viewed by a non-astronomer just looking up at night is acceptable. Even "shooting star" for a meteor is cool.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yup. More like "preformer"

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's still covered in LGBT, something this guy is protesting against by wasting beer. Personally I think we're giving him much more attention than he deserves and normally gets, which is probably why he did this in the first place. Nobody listens to his shit so he thinks a silly performance like this will drum up publicity.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wonder if the people that own queen music can demand him to stop singing it.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can someone explain that bud light stuff and how it connects with LGBTQ? I'm not American. I think I missed it and now I see way too many references here which I don't exactly understand

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

They put a pride rainbow on their cans. Seriously that's it.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Those cans with the rainbow are actually from 2022 in Canada and have nothing to do with the Dylan Mulvaney thing, articles just love to use pictures of them when talking about the current story. Nothing has changed about the Bud Light cans people are buying, they're just mad Bud Light did a promotion with a trans person.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Ah, I just assumed they were being dumb bigots (correct, but for the wrong issue) and was not up to date. Sorry bout that.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bud light recently chose a LBGTQ spokesperson and that didn’t sit well with some more conservative Bud Light drinkers.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Bud Light put the face of a trans woman on their can, and it pissed off the psychos.

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

On ONE can, that they gave to her. Not for sale to the public. They made ONE can as a present.

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Holy shit, THAT triggered them? What a bunch of snowflakes

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

What does their party name stand for, the party is GOP, it stands for "Gaslight, obstruct, project." They are in the "projection" phase because to a conservative, they only relate to their children and to others by bullying them and indoctrinating them into their horrid ideologies, so they project that because THEY do it, EVERYONE ELSE does it too. They shove their god down their kid's throats, their political views, their racism, so they just assume everyone's as dogshit a person as they are.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

So to them, the idea that one person can have a special beer can is insanity, because they're now convinced that because one person got a can, they don't get to have theirs, and that because one person benefitted, they somehow lost some god right or something or their liberty was infringed because someone ELSE is special, and not them.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Hahaha, wtf. Can people stop projecting their problems onto things that have nothing to do with their problems. I know it is tradition to scapegoat onto minorities... But it is getting old, isn't it?

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

What was the cover? "We are the champions" ?

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I'll choose to believe it was I Want To Break Free

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

No way anyone in a shit modern country band would attempt that bonkers keytar solo.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well, it's a good song.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"Another One Bites The Dust". Someone in the audience threw the can on stage as the intro started. He grabbed it and said "Yeah! Fuck that" and smashed it. Apparently he quit drinking a few years ago. Then he tossed another back to the drummer and told him to shotgun it. So... what was it ? Display of an exe drinker, making another beer bite the dust, or homophobic reaction relating to all the Bud Lite fuss ? Have to ask him I guess. https://tasteofcountry.com/brantley-gilbert-bud-light-video/

3 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Of course it was the shittiest Queen song.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 9

lol some dumb fuck threw their $9 bud light away after paying for it lolololol

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So, it's not about Bud Light homophobia, but about him not drinking alcohol regardless of the can's colours, and by making the drummer shotgun it he showed that if you're not against drinking alcohol, Bud Light is still worth drinking?

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Sounds like a fair assumption. And it may have also been a subtle put down to the person in the audience who tossed the Bud Lite ? Or... maybe the person in the audience thought because it was a lite beer he'd still be into drinking it ???

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think he tossed the drummer a different beer that hasn’t been boycotted by the dummies yet but still likely in the AB family anyway. Dummies all around.

True story, an old friends dad had an unusual name. His parents had a nice normal name picked out for him. When he was born the doctor said “what’s his name? I need to fill out the birth certificate.” “We’re naming him Martin.” They said. Anywho, the doctor remembered to dot his ‘i’ but forgot to cross his ‘t’ and that’s how they ended up with their little Marlin.

What a tremendous load of horse shit. Country music is directly descended from European folk music and is a direct precursor to both Rock & Roll and Rythm and Blues. Bluegrass predates jazz.

Bluegrass is older than jazz. I don't think you are right on this one. Eric Clapton seems like a reasonable target for the "who killed jazz?" murder mystery you just invented.

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Yes. But bluegrass and country are not the same. Even a few casual searches, bluegrass has a vastly different sound, different instruments, and very unique vocal styles and lyrical styles than country. Comparing the "songs" played on country stations to older bluegrass, its clearly different enough to be a subgenre at best, or its own genre altogether now at worst.
