The Spaceship Steamer (sounds like a master level sex move).
I was just doing the dishes and when I lifted it to the dish rack, I instinctively carried it by it's ring and made a "whoosh!" noise. Childhood joy embedded deep, even at 33.
I recall the one my mom used when I was a kid. It had a loose flap and so made a perfect hatch door for my dinosaurs to exit and enter when landing in the turtle tank (I had two as pets).
What's your favorite non-standard childhood toy?
Seollal
Yellow pages. I'd sit in a corner and tear them up for fun.
TheDevilBeatJohnny
Cardboard nunchucks.

The whisk with the crank on it and the weird whisk that was like a spring when you pushed it down.

Mine was a dried up chicken leg. I pretended it was a dinosaur leg. I think I still have it in a box somewhere.
doppelfisch
I used to do that. I'd pick them clean and make stuff out of 'em too.
SecretAgentSuperBooger
Stick guns

And wrapping paper tube swords.
Malloon
Oh, yeah. Ours had a handle in the middle, and we would use it as a shield. Good times, good times.

Someone put a Lego mini fig inside. Then open it slowly all while bumping to Swing Down, Sweet Chariot.
bladderinfection
Wooden cover for a cable from a telephone pole (3 feet of u shaped trough). Add garden hose and it was a GI Joe waterslide.
macfett
I did the same, and I still make the noise when I use them at age 40.
plunderpussthepiratecat
I too had a spaceship steamer! Mine had some missing panels from a battle, lol.
Youmaynotagree
Me too lol
hojizzbar
I had 2. One was smaller than the other so I placed it inside like a Russian doll and it fitted perfectly. Weirdly satisfying.
spaceymonkey
I wish I had pet dinosaurs.
wazztastic
It’s all fun and games till you get your foreskin caught in that thing.
doppelfisch
So true.
Theamazingpop
Squeegee!
HeyGuysAmIRelevantYet
Rivets. Made the best Lego swords.
HeyGuysAmIRelevantYet
Rivots? Rivets? Rivets.

The imagination of a child is a marvelous thing. It's a real shame so many lose that wonder & joy as we age.
shutsman
Play dnd, keep that wonder alive
doppelfisch
Yes. That does really help.

I would love to. However, I'm currently a full time RN student working full time. Maybe when I'm done with nursing school.
spambarrage
I would freeze action figures in Tupperware. After soaking the container in warm water, I'd remove/bury the ice blocks then excavate them.
doppelfisch
Damn, that's awesome!
ProbablyBigfoot
Red Solo cups were awesome to build giant towers with.
