Family suicide. It's a thing in Asia. Don't know all the specifics of why but it seems like it's something in an older societal way of thinking where the whole family is ruined so you take the whole family with you. Idk if anyone has more specific information on this they can share?

But they all wear masks

Was the water only 2 foot deep? Because that seems like a survivable distance

The world is a dark place.

1 year ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

This clip shows the light of humanity saving a human who thought there was only dark.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Most of the world is really bright, it's out monkey brain hyper focusing on bad things since they can be a threat

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also a bright place. But there are the dark that shriek about not filming the good deeds

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No, this clip shows the opposite. The light to dark ratio is super high. I recommend a book called Humankind.

You have to be in a very, very unhealthy, dark place to think of killing your child. I'm glad she didn't succeed in killing the child or herself. Hopefully she got help!

To top it off, it's in China, a place where people usually avoid helping strangers in fear of being sued worse than in the Sentient Cheeto land.

Now someone reverse it

Not every day you get to stop a murder suicide. The dudes are awesome, fuck her.

1 year ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 47

Yeah, i agree with the fuck her. She needs help sure, but a murder done out of desperation is still a murder. Family fathers that kill their wifes and kids out of dispair of the prostect of them leaving do not get the same amount of sympathy.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

Men don't get nearly the same kind of sympathy. I'm also noticing a lack of sympathy for the child. At the least it was reckless endangerment, at worst attempted murder. No one gets a free pass from that.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Mental illness is fucked and a more likely cause of this situation then just a horrible person.

1 year ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 1

I'm aware of that. Same with Andrea Yates and Chris Benoit. The only difference between them and this lady is murder vs. attempted murder. Does she need help? Sure. The child needs it a hell of a lot more.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

Why her?

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

But what's the point in dragging her when there's NO context whatsoever? Just celebrate the guy.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She’s at the end of her rope and obviously thought that nobody cared. She needs help.

1 year ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

No! Help her. She does it because she does not see any other way. Not out of malice.

1 year ago | Likes 104 Dislikes 7

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I know it's not out of malice. I don't care. When you try to murder a child your motivation does not matter.

1 year ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 48

The fact that you are being down voted for "child murder is bad" may be the worst thing I've ever seen on this site. This place is getting to be a very peculiar flavor of toxic, and I think I need to leave.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

accident or arson the results are the same smokey bear

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Perhaps she thought it better than dying and leaving the child alone to suffer, just like she had.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Nope. You attempt to murder your own child you've forfeited your right to be alive. There are absolutely zero reasons to forgive or help such a monstrous creature.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 12

yeah, just kill the starved, chained up, traumatized and afraid dog instead of working on rehabing it. Empathy? Fail. u fail. Outrage troll.

1 year ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 5

Posturing much?

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 16

Oh yes, comparing someone trying to murder her kid to a starved, chained up, traumatised and afraid dog. That's definitely a comparable thing. No.

If you attempt to murder your kid for absolutely any reason whatsoever, you should be lined up against a wall and shot. No exceptions.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 21

another black and white outrage troll. Hi little troll. if you can have empathy for the dog but not the women, then we know yer either a sociopath, a misogynist, a misanthrope or just an asshole. Who by their own reasoning should prolly have been shot a long time ago for casually endangering countless pll by driving under the influence of this shining personality.

1 year ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Why “fuck her”?
You don’t know anything about her!

1 year ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 6

I know she tried to murder a child.

1 year ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 15

Yeah, but why? You don't know anything about it.

1 year ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 6

The fact you think that absolutely anything can justify attempting to murder your kid is disgusting.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 24

This is fucking insane, how did we get here? Yes, child murder is bad. Full stop. Case closed. If we can't judge this behavior, there is literally nothing we can judge, because this is the most heinous thing you can do. Fucking. What? Jesus goddamn Christ.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

She tried to commit suicide and take the kid. Suicidal thoughts are not rational. No one is saying it could ever be okay or justified, you're a fucking moron for even thinking that. There are more than two ways of thinking you dipshit. She needs help and the kid can be peotected at the same time. Idk if you're a troll or a fucking useless, asshole with no empathy, but either way, shut up.

1 year ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

I don't think that. I just don't make assumptions about a situation without knowing the facts. Things aren't always what they seem. Is that really her kid? Is she being coerced in any way? Is this an act of sheer desperation stemming from extreme injustice against her which might cause an even worse fate? I have no idea, but then neither do you.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I REALLY want to know the story behind this.

Men = hero. Better not talk about how much abusive behaviour of whom led to this womans state

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 34

Oh, you definitely sound like a sexist piece of shit.

1 year ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Tell me you have no working experience in DEI without telling me. I am sexist, like you obvs. We are all sexist and racist, that's how we're socialised. Wouldn't you think chinas one kid policy is patriarchal? Chinas work ethics and nature exploitation is patriarchal, as well as gender roles & economy and the need for hero-narratives. If you'd know ANY statistics you'd know its impossible for women to not become a survivor throughout their lives. And yet we talk about the driver ._.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The driver, who saved a kid from getting thrown off a bridge.

Stop digging your hole.

China bad, economy bad, no rights bad, no future bad, people think that if the government is going to mess with them they are going to snap on the government and they start killing people as an act of revenge. But this woman looks like she just wanted to kill herself and her child.

1 year ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 5

This video already has kids by now. China is no1 economic power now. I went to Shanghai and its like going 100 years in the future. Only electric vehicles and green parks. Clean air and silence in a 25mil pop city. Amazing

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i see the appeal, who'd want to raise kids in this shitwhole of a life whilst also existing

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What makes you think this was motivated specifically by the government messing with someone? Things other than the government do happen in China, it's quite likely this person was just unwell

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

"It couldn't be the hyper-oppressive tyrannical and bloodthirsty government which micro-manages every aspect of the Chinese citizens' lives to the point they've even had a string of rebellions. I'm sure she's just fucked in the head because it's her personal problems. Not at all related to the social climate of enforced depression and inhumane treatment."

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I wouldn't call the Chinese depressed. Sure, it's a bad system, but most of them don't even know about it. They just live their lives. And all the people I met there were far happier than any Americans I know. With a few exceptions of course. Generally speaking, they've got closer communities in China and we know from many studies that close relationships create happiness. Something Americans have very very little of. The last uprising was against COVID restrictions and not the CCP overall. HK

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Had uprisings against the mainland interference in their elections and against their regime, but that's a very different place that didn't want to fit in to Chinese society. They were used to a democracy and hate the idea of a dictatorship running things, but the general population of China don't even know they're in a dictatorship. They genuinely don't think about politics at all. How would they even know to? So no, this is FAR more likely a family/personal issue. Quite likely her husband

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know this isn't the hot take but it's the fair, measured take that is probably correct. If anything, it's how the bus driver behaved that is a measure of society and I think that transcends boarders. .. I hope.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Sounds a lot like nowadays US. I hate this timeline.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

It's getting there, but it's no where near as bad as it is in China. You literally disappear if you speak out against the government. How else you think they have the shortest waiting period for organ transplants in the world? One government official needed a heart and had three ready in almost no time at all.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

But wasn't there some news about dead bodies found behind a US prison and the dead missing organs? (Or am I mixing up to different kind of news?)

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I think you're combining two stories

1 where an Alabama prison was being sued because they were returning the bodies of dead convicts to their families missing organs https://apnews.com/article/alabama-prisons-inmates-bodies-internal-organs-394ee93d95f7ad798191e0abdb5df0ec

and 2 where hundreds of dead bodies were
found buried behind a Mississippi prison https://www.npr.org/2024/01/12/1224449631/mississippi-jail-graves-investigation

Not sure it's better that they're separate incidents though..

Someone had a child. Some years later, that child’s guardian decided that was a bad call.

1 year ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 32

Not sure why this was down voted so hard, this is reality.

I’m sorry you were downvoted. My parent was also suicidal and explicitly blamed me. Biracial child. I wish more people would NOT have kids if they can’t handle the burden.

She needed a new heel for her shoe. So she decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So she tied an onion to her belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. "Gimme five bees for a quarter," you'd say. Now where were we... oh yeah. The important thing was that she had an onion on her belt, which was the style at the time. She didn't have any white onions...

JFC. I figured that was it, but I just don't get the idea of killing your kid

1 year ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 2

I can weigh in, as I once had a boss try to kill his girlfriend and then commit suicide because she got an abortion: it's because they think they own the other person. The other person doesn't have a life without them in the killer's eyes.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

People in a crisis state are not behaving rationally. Not trying to be reductive to mental health but it really is simply their motivations are usually not going to make sense to someone in a non-crisis state.

1 year ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 0

Depends on the home situation. Could be mental issues, The woman could be afraid both she and her kid would be sold into trafficking by loansharks tomorrow. There are as many reasons as stars in the sky. Whether or not they count as justified isn't a conversation anyone outside her situation should be discussing on comment sections rather than as part of an investigation

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because death starts to seem like such a safe reprieve that it feels like a mercy to shuffle them off rather than let them suffer the consequences of your actions.

I have a few extremely social/bonded pets that get depressed when I leave the house and break down if I'm away on business more than 24 hours. If I were dying of something like cancer, I'd consider putting them down rather than making them suffer my absence in pain and confusion. They're relatively old, though; almost time anyway...

Same. There was a horrific case here in Australia years ago where a man in a custody battle threw one of his kids off the Westgate bridge while the other kid was still in the car. Absolutely horrible thing. Rocked the country. They've since installed really high fencing on the bridge now.

When someone makes an attempt to end their own life, they are generally not in a healthy frame of mind.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Unpopular take... why is it am unhealthy frame of mind? We do not live in great world, we will work until we die, most likely broke all while watching horrible things happen. Is life a gift or a curse?

I am not suicidal, it does however run in my family. The above statement i made was paraphrased from what my 12 year old niece said to me, before she succeeded on her 5th attempt. (First attempt was at age 8)

She has a loving family, had therapists and a network of people who did all they could

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

And in the end her will to take her life won the battle. She actually pretended to be "better" for months. The day before you hung herself, she hung out with all of her siblings and had a fun day. The day she did it, she helped her mother do her hair and makeup for a wedding they were attending. Made plans with a friend. Waited for her parents to leave for the wedding. Turned her phone off, put it out of her reach and hung herself.

I really miss her :( brilliant child with awful demons

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

If the world was so terrible to you you didn't want to live in it anymore, why would you leave your kid to suffer it? Also I guess it's the idea of just not wanting to leave their kid behind.

Suicidal people aren't exactly the greatest at making judgement calls...

1 year ago | Likes 172 Dislikes 0

This part. People who are suicidal don't think straight. I mean come on, they want to go against their own life. That's extremely difficult and damaging to the psyche. She probably thought he was better off dead with her, that way whatever she suffered, he would never have to.

1 year ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 0

Ibe discussed the “selfishness” of suicide a few time, when it happened more than once pretty close to me. Not selfish in the sense of leaving loved ones behind, but the trauma they cause to strangers by using such a public method. One guy i knew shot himself in the head in his car on a schoolroad, and a couple of kids found gim in the morning…
Another i knew jumped in fromt of a train..

Both were caring, intelligent and severely depressed. Its difficult enough to try and understand >
