I so preferred the channel where I grew up who ran French... nature documentaries... their encoding gave perfect picture but it was negative (as in a negative photo. If you are too young to know what that looks like ask your mom ;) ) Much easier to see than this at least.

When I was an early teen, my dad installed one of those monster 10ft satellite dishes on our garage.
Pixelated porn was never a thing after that.
The trick was to make sure you had something else to watch on the next closest satellite because all the pron was one one sat, and regular programming was on the other ones and the dish had to physically rotate.
