Shortest of those cables (that I've seen) is 3' which is usually plenty long enough to reach the floor with some slack if there isn't a table or counter or chair nearby.

Samsung isn't much better. When I bought the Note 20 five years ago, it no longer had a 3.5mm audio jack, so I bought an adapter for the charger port to use my plug-in earbuds. If they ever go to full wireless charging, I'm going to revive my Note 20.

I enjoy Apple devices, mostly because of familiarity. My first phone was an iPhone, and so it kinda stuck like that. I know the UI, I know how to navigate and troubleshoot, etc.
That being said, my past two phones have been the SE series, and the next time I have to upgrade, it’ll be the next generation of SE phones. If you don’t know, the SE is the budget model.

You can reskin android with an iOS app from the app store and then you could get a more consumer friendly device from a less shitty company potentially for a better price. Not trying to be an ass but if you wanna distance yourself from apple for their behavior, this is a great option.

If you can afford it and you like it. It's a good product for you. I shit on Apple, but i have also owned and used their stuff. I get the appeal and well understand the upsides. I like the design and branding in a couple of ways. I just don't buy their stuff right now because i can get much cheaper options that much better serve my needs and last longer.

The trick is that their products are generally designed to make you buy the whole ecosystem koolaid by intentionally working badly with anything not in the ecosystem but working really well with other Apple products. End result is lots of people swearing that Apple products "just work" while everything else is a pain to work with.

Like an automatic mechanical watch from Seiko, which is about 200$, runs precisely enough to be only a few minutes off per month and needs norhing but the movement of my arm to rewind the spring. Also I like the real tick-tack sound of an actual watch.
