Can we stop enslaving and slaughtering these beautiful animals already?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

No ribs? No bacon? No tenderloin? No pork chops? No ham? No thank you. What if they bread uglier, meaner pigs? Killer Javelinas?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Enslaving, torturing and killing a sentient being with complex emotional intelligence all so you can have something you like is not ethically right... A lifetime of suffering ended by a brutal slaughter for a 10 min endorphine hit....

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

Your ‘ethics’ and mine diverge at some point as I have no problem with eating meat, nor do I believe that every animal raised is enslaved and tortured. Vegan dogma is rapidly becoming as nonsensical as religious doctrine. If you don’t want to eat meat, then don’t. You do not occupy some moral high ground that forces your choices on me.

Im not taking a moral high ground. There is no ethical way to take someone's life, like there is no ethical way to raise someone in captivity and deprive them of thier natural instincts and desires. Take milk as an example, everyone assumes you can have ethical milk yet we forciblely empregnate a cow and at less than 1 day old a baby is stripped from its mother so we can harvest her bodily secretions. Cows will fall into great depression and scream out for thier babies for weeks after.

Most people would rather bury their head in the sand than actually look into what they are contributing towards.

Also your quick to say dont "force your choices on me" yet you force your choices on others and those choices are actively causing suffering. If we could lead healthy and happy lives without harming others why wouldnt we?

Look I’m all about humane treatment of animals but you went full “Even milk” and I can’t stand you.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Your cute domestic animals wouldn’t exist without us. Again I’m pro humane treatment of animals. But I can’t roll my eyes harder at you when you say that milking them is abuse.

Pigs low-key got one of the cutest makeovers through domestication. Like everything becomes cuter when humans stick our beaks in, but this is such a soft boi.

Where's the wiry bristles? Where's the vicious, slashing tusks? Where's the glaring eyes? Where's the SCREAMING BLOODTHIRSTY RAGE? Lotta work went into this.

2 years ago | Likes 100 Dislikes 0

If you let hogs out and they go feral after about 6 months they do grow tusks... Really cool

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Pigs will still shred you if given the chance

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

They mostly just shoot you from behind

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Shockingly, domesticated pigs can revert to much of that feral form when released into the wild, or so I’ve been told. Also I want to say domesticated adults still have tusks, but I’m not sure if that’s accurate across the board. Maybe they’re trimmed routinely or removed like declawing a cat? (Not arguing the ethics of either, just speculating)

I think the tusks are continually growing canine teeth, so you can either trim them (and they can eventually grow back) or have them pulled (not so nice for piggo).

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

They're cut as piglets, which kills the root. Hence the phrase "cutting teeth".

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Mine grew them in the living room.

SCREAMING BLOODTHIRSTY RAGE is still there, right under the 300lbs of fat. Don't feed one for 8 hours and it surfaces.
