In my defence, every time I am hit by anything, Mario is safely ensconced in his floating safety bubble... on the downside however, there's a flying lizard warlock roaming the island doing his best Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang child catcher impression, and he can apparently instinctively hear a Baby crying for miles away. I'm still trying to work out why collecting these small dudes who are shaped like stars slow him down. Look, I'm saying I've taken at least some effort here.

The game is set in a dystopian future and is very much tong and cheek calling out imperialism, zenopobia, and stupidly high levels of nationalism. I think for the most part the fan base gets that, but leaning into the bit is very fun cause it's obviously a hellscape of you every play the game. Like, you are a solider with minimal training being called special forces and when you die the next one (not clone, just some other random fuck) is unfrozzen and sent in to replace the first :) it's satire

It is fun as shit, especially with friends. Friendly fire accidents are great. The enemies are challenging, the powers (strategems) offer a unique way to try and work your way around the challenges of tougher enemies, and the dialog is pretty funny too. And it's only $40.
