(Trans flag because if Jesus was a virgin birth (parthenogenesis) he'd have XX genes)

Fun factoid: Statistically parthenogenesis in animals happens often, but actually PROVING it is near-impossible. There are many anecdotal stories of it happening in humans, but disproving pregnancy via traditional means is difficult at best and most human parthenogenesis leads to tumors rather than offspring. http://www.zo.utexas.edu/courses/thoc/virginbirth.html

uhh parthenogenesis has never been proven in mammals and wouldnt it result in an exact genetic duplicate with no secondary contributing DNA?

One Tuvix for two of the OG crew? Sounds like simple numbers to me 🤷‍♀️

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

With the fact that transporter duplicates exist they should’ve been able to have all 3 of them

No, Janeway made the right choice.

Transporter duplicates are a know thing to happen, just make it so you have all 3 crewmen, problem solved

Tuvok and Neelix had their bodily autonomy violated by Tuvix.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

One of them... and it wasn't a chef

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes she did and it was justified. Tuvix had “killed” two of her crew. And she got them back.

3 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 2

The killing is justified because...anyone else getting some Nazi vibes here?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

I am reasonably sure that Tuvix did not cause the accident that created him. Please restate the nature of your justification.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Bullshit. Her crewmen were dead, and she made two copies by murdering a third. That's three dead.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

A Federation Captain possesses the right to order any member of crew to their death. Argue morality all you want, this fact remains true. That said, Tuvix was the result of a deadly accident. Given the opportunity to undo the incident and save the lives of two of her crew members, I find little moral ground to support choosing not to save them.

3 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

How about that the cost of saving them is the life of another crewman?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Especially since she could have cloned Tuvix using another transporter "accident"

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

One could argue that by not splitting Tuvix, she would be negligently allowing two crewmembers to die. Additionally, the crew needed as many hands as it could get as they were cut off from Federation support, so she would also be increasing the risk of losing the whole crew.

Yeah, but one of those was Neelix, who posed an active danger to the ship half the time

I'm ok with trans jesus if that's how jesus just is but why is shark jesus trans because they're born female? Aren't they just cis female shark jesus?

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

so like... never seen the first Jurassic Park movie, huh?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Spoilers then: some animals can physically change genders if there aren't enough males or females in their environment

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh. Sure. A lot of fish, some frogs iirc.. I didn't need Jurassic park to know that. Is it that good? I'm not really a big movie guy. I do like Jeff Goldblum though.

Today is a great day to fix that c:

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It implies she is the same soul as original Jesus, just now in the right (shark) body.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Wouldn't that just mean Jesus of Nazareth was the trans one, and the shark isn't?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

._. I mean... perhaps both are simply nonbinary? All we know is Jesus was AMAB.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

...is.. is it you??!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You say so. ._. Know that I love you and want you to remember: blessings and curses alike come through people. Seek blessings and they shall find you.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I suppose it depends on what the word trans signifies. Currently it means both 'wanting to transition' and 'having transitioned', the latter of which this shark is just a humorous reference to. You are correct that there is no real need to specifically call the shark trans, but the same can be said for any trans person unless situationally relevant (like going to a doctor for a checkup).

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For a minute I thought it was transpecies rather than transgender. Which, you know, I'm not really too openminded about people who identify as nonhuman animals but if this shark is legitimately the reincarnation of jesus then we need to answer a few questions like "does gender reside in the soul?" Because if the soul is without gender, then it doesn't matter what gender or biological sex body hosted it before

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not a Christian but I believe Christianity teaches that God is a male (what it means to be male in the absence of a corresponding female is in question for me - if god has a penis, whose vagina is it for?) And that Jesus is both human, a fully human male, and also God, and also God's son. So that's definitely male. And assuming god isn't physically embodied, we have a "male soul" or etheric essence in the form of God, or the God-within-Jesus. That kind of says to me that souls have gender,
