Nifty "EasyQuit Stop Smoking" app, just because I like to keep track of these stats.

4 days, 17 hours and 38 minutes at time of posting. Easy does it.

I do take some pills to help with the edge of the first few days. I see it as cheating, in the same way that we cheat by wearing shoes to keep our soles safe, or wear clothes to avoid sun/freeze burns.

Most importantly, you need to realize that after two days you really notice how easier it is to breath.

If you will you, you can achieve it! Stay strong everyone. :)

FP edit: Thanks for all the wishes, everyone! Much love.

well @op everyone in my family refused to quit and they all died of cancer. Except one who stopped and got fat instead. Don't get fat lol

I hit 46 years old and something I suspect hormonal happened...I just woke up and simply could not stand to smoke anymore...that was it.

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

I got that feeling from time to time where I'd smoke and couldn't figure out why... Until the next one. Glad to hear you're not smoking. :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Currently using Tabex. :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hey I'm using the same app, love it. It's on my homescreen. 12 days in - I gave up on Christmas day. We can do it!!???? ????

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We can do it!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Almost 6 years and counting for me. Keep at it OP, it only gets easier with time. I used the gum to quit and would highly recommend it

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Thank you! I am using Tic Tacs and Menthos for the most part, simulates sucking in that nasty drag. :D Godspeed.

4 days of not smoking = TOTAL HEALTH

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nah, there are a dozen stages of progress on the heslth place, just 4 of them are around 4 days, with 2 around the first couple hours.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm just clownin' on the app, nothing against you :) Congrats on quitting smoking! I hope you keep it up and feel better.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did it 8 years ago using nicotine gum. It worked great for me, and if I had a tracker I'm sure I'd be in that thousands of dollars by now!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I saw that and said, "I didn't make a resolution ya fuckin nurgle."

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Keep it up! You got this!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thanks!!!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I quit 5 years ago, New Year’s Day, when my dad quit because cancer. Haven’t looked back once.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Then we'll Quittingversery. Hope you and your pops do well. :)

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Neither of us has had one, and he beat (lung) cancer, so thanks! and stay strong. You can do it!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Glad to hear it! Thanks, WE can do this!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just reached 900 days as a non smoker a few weeks ago. Let me know if you need any advice!

8 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 1

Thanks! For now it's good, small cravings and a lot of need to walk, might hit you up later if it gets tricky. :D

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

It’s easy. I quit cigarettes immediately... & took up cigars. I’m having a Cuban immigrant I let live in my shed roll me one right now!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

When someone offers you a smoke, and you're just left to stare at it, struggling to give a "no", and unable to look away, what do you do?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

left crippled under the weight of one's own weakness. At the mercy of addiction.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What helped me was I would look at my tracker and how far I had come.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I made a promise that if I ever cheated I would start the tracker over again. It also helped that my smoking friends understood (2/3)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

3/? That I did not want to cheat. I became proud of my stats and I still show friends and family how long I have gone.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

4/4 I use Quitnow! But it seems like you have a good tracker too. Good luck OP you can do it just one day at a time!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What's the app please? Please?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

EasyQuit Stop Smoking

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Stay strong @OP, I know you can do it. I just passed my 7 year mark without one :)

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Thank you! I hope we'll both get many more year marks. :D

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I hope so, too!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Quit stop smoking, you say?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

EasyQuit Stop Smoking. :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

@OP. I’m also quitting as a New Years resolution. I’m using the patch and it’s helping a lot. Hope everything goes well. Keep me posted!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lets do it together then! Good luck. :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My wife quit in May 2015. She claims it was easier than she thought it would be. It's doable, and I believe in you @OP

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks OP! I’m starting on Wednesday (getting my wisdom teeth removed so I figure it’s probably a good time.) and this app seems helpful!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Considering smoking adter that op causes inflamation, yes, its a good day to start, but really say goodbye to your last ciggy. :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh definitely! I figure I’ll have a going away party for my cigs and my tooth!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Be Strong!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you, Strong Giant!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

After you get past day 3 it's easy going. It's been almost 3 years now and looking back I honestly can't believe I used to do it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can do it!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you! Yeah, even as I smoked it felt silly sometimes, but gotta get that nicotine. Not anymore though. :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would google cheat codes

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If I did it would block out the achievements, and I'ma sucker for achievements. :(

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Today is my first day, I'm about to burn down an orphanage.

8 years ago | Likes 174 Dislikes 0

I knew someone that, after only a week, actually looked better. More color in his face and clean hair. Good luck!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That first week or two, omg it’s bad. I wanted to murder everyone. It’s a lot better after that.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

As long as it's not with a cigarette then you're fine.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I just quit dipping, it sucks, but I’ve wanted to quite for a little by time now. Good luck to you!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I used dum-dums and a lot of cursing. Been smoke free for 12 years. You can do it.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

hang in there, bud - we can do it! 5th day here, it's worth it

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Keep going at it, lots of gum or Tic Tacs. :D Godspeed

8 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 0

Just to clarify, you do mean keep going at giving up smoking right? Cos I don't think Tic Tacs are useful when burning down orphanages

8 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

well?? Have u burnt any orphanages today?? Dont say stuff about matters that u have no experience in!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You could powder them? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dust_explosion

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Almost 4 years later and I still have cravings when I see someone smoking or if I have a drink. Anyone know if it ever stops?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wouldn't know, but I kind of feel envious of others as they smoke. :(

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I tried and already caved... It is tough. Congrats to you! I think I'll download that app. It does help to see progress!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Seeing the progress + benefits really helps motivate. Try some tablets too; chemical help is always help.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've failed massively

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I failed so many times. It's now been 7 years. Keep trying. You'll get there eventually.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Keep trying too, human. You'll manage it one day, but there's no better time to try than "now". ;)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I probably should have worded that better. It's been 7 years since I quit smoking. :-) Good luck @OP!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh, congratulations then. :D

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks. Took many failures before it finally stuck. Then I ended up pregnant a month later. Got to find a way to stay distracted...lol

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Got a criend who only managed it at third time. What's important is to keep trying. Also, pills and apps might help keep your resiliance up.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Oh no I think we have misunderstood, I'm complaining about failing everything I set out to do I dont smoke at all. Hope you keep up yourgoal

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Vape. I know it's douchey, but it's working for me. 3mg nicotine at first to kill the craving a little. Then go to just straight flavor.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah. It helps a lot. This years goal is quit vaping now.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just quit vaping 5 days ago after quiting smoking like 2 years ago. Wayyyy easier to cut out the vape IMO

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hey, I want to congratulate you, I don't know you bit I'm proud of you. I want to share my family's rock bottom smoking moment with you and

The world. In November my father Jim had the sniffles on a Friday night at my home. By 6am Sat he was in an ambulance unable to breathe. By

By 10 am he on life support in a medically induced and paralytic coma. It happened so fast my mom didn't even get to tell me before they

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Intubated him. He has smoked his whole life. He has COPD and continued to smoke while using up month long inhalers in 1 week. We were told

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He could not survive this. The smoking turned his lungs brittle meaning the ventilator had a very high chance of collapsing his lungs. We

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We're granted. Miracle. My dad survived and made it off the ventilator. The doctors dont know how he lived. They do know how he almost died.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It will be 5 years in March. You made the right choice OP.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks Katya; my GF thunks so too. Best of luck to you!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And a convivial Tuesday in April to you!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Going on 3 years now and I don't even think about it anymore. After the first year you really don't miss it. Keep it up!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

if you get the urge, cut a straw and inhale on it. The action of a deep breath is associated with the relief we feel after a stressful event

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks! I do try and simulate with tic tacs and mentos, but I also use tabs for now so I'll have to see later.
