The answer to sexism is not retaliatory sexism.

I was fired for being pregnant. In 2008.
In South Georgia.

#6 My Grandmother fought hard in the 40s against the being fired for being pregnant.
She was an English school teacher, and fought tooth and nail to keep her job, even rose to Principal.
She and my grandfather helped forever change Michigan law, and I am proud to be in the family.

Why are there so few women in the military? When they were actively excluded until recently, and now are open-season targets for rape and the chain of command looks the other way cause "what did they expect joining a mostly male organization"

9 months ago | Likes 164 Dislikes 2

That stat isn’t even correct I’m in the US Army and women are 15% of the force.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Decades ago my dad wanted me to join up. I didn't tell him that I didn't want to join because my friend who joined the year before had been raped by another soldier and killed themselves from the harassment they got when they thought about coming forward.

9 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I considered the military, but then I remembered I don't want to be raped.

I checked the UK where women take up 11.9% of the Regular Forces and 15.9% of the Reserve Forces. It seems that the United States has a lot of catching up to do.

If violence against children was taken seriously those prison numbers would be equal. Also if mental abuse was taken seriously it would be 90% women in jail

#4 This one is the only one I have a problem with. Parthenogenesis has never been observed in humans...which means that all births require a fetus to be carried to term, which requires a zygote made of a sperm and an egg...that's how sexual reproduction works. Everything else that was a response to captain sexist asshole was valid and correct.

#7 That is false and Chauvinistic. Women are not inherently more righteous than men. Margaret Thatcher, Golda Meir, Indira Gandhi, Sheikh Hasina, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf... And that's only resent history. Regardless of one option about those women, they were/are women leaders that made wars. Claiming that only men causes wars, is like claiming that "women are just better at taking notes..."

9 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

The whole post is garbage. Just a big circle shlick for people to come up with reasons to hate men and further divide everyone.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I don't think that it's "men hate", but it is poor reasoning. The "men vs women" mentality is just bullshit. Yes it's much (much) more obvious towards women, but it is just as harmful for men.
So if you don't couple "70c to a dollar" with "men don't deserve paternity leave" you're missing the point. IMHO

0.70 : 1.00 is a lie any way. With position and tenure accounted for there is no statistical earning difference.

The one i disagree with, is the person who says, "no one said we dont need men". Yes, plenty of people habe said that.

The one I agree the most with, is the petson who says both gender contributes to society.

But lets not kid ourselves, there are jobs that some gender tend to gravitate more towards. I say this without malice

We will eventually get to a time when the most beautiful of women will be able to walk anywhere in the world, wearing all her jewelry, and it wouldn't even enter her mind that anyone would touch her. It won't happen in my lifetime, or my grandchildren's lifetimes, but we will get there.

Threads like this help us achieve that state of worldwide maturity.

I don't think the homicide one is accurate, there is a high amount of unsolved murders that very well could be either woman or man. The sarcastic consensus is that its 90% of unsolved murders are committed by women because they are least suspected of being capable.

#2 In Nordics it has been observed that the more equal the labour market becomes, it will become more segregted by the job types. In that statistics, which I assume is US statics, 88% of nurses are women. Sweden which is one of the most feministic countries in the world, 88% of nurses are women. And 96% of child care workers are women.

Skew in workforce gender ratio doesn't equal systemic sexism. It may as well be from freedom of choice.

You do realise the standard deviation within which woman are elected, right? Just checking.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 8

Female leaders of nations are not just elected. Many of them inherit their positions through various methods. Neither Wu Zetian nor Queen Victoria were ‘elected’. Both presided over multiple wars.

Women have been running tribes, nations and religions for as long as tribes, nations, and religions have existed, though the majority of nations have been run by men, and the records on tribes are spotty at best.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Thaaaaat depends on which country you are in. Russia has the most women per men in the world, and it's not even close. Qatar has the most men per women in the world. It's... also not even close.

There's, uh, very obvious reasons why both of these are the case.

This is what happens when people are bad at statistics. 98% of violent crime committed by men is not the same as 98% of men being violent. The vast majority of men are just living our lives, and a good chunk of us are also fighting the patriarchy. "Lol get rid of men" is not helpful.

Reminds ofvthe time a Doberman scared my wife. The kids and I were in the car ready to go, but she dawdled in the house. She finally came out and aa neighbors dobie trotted up to the car. Wife was terrified. She trembled and said there was a Doberman in front of her. I got out of the car, walked around and saw it was only about 6 months old. I looked at it and said, "get outta here" and it ran. Not, I didn't yell. My regular speaking voice, but with disgust in it.

The MRA incel blocked me after posting a comment about men getting abused. Nearly all men who have been victims of violent crime, especially sexual abuse, were victimized by another man.

9 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I have a friend who asked if I had ever been assaulted in some form by a man. My answer was yes more than once. She said something must be wrong with her as she never had to deal with any of that. I said no she was lucky.

9 months ago | Likes 110 Dislikes 0

I, a man, have been assaulted by my wife. Do you people ever ask about the welfare of men and why some men snap and why women have higher reported rates of assault? No, you just try to make yourselves look like a victim, men don't do that.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 26

You're literally doing it right now, chud

9 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Not really helping your case here, diminishing every other victim's plight to make you out as the DOUBLE victim.

The posted stats show that men are assaulted. Consider that a large part probably goes unreported either cuz guys don't know they have been harmed (like I was at the time) or are afraid of not being macho on top of the regular reasons people don't report it. Assault is bad whoever does it.

9 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Let me get this straight. You're complaining about being assaulted but then also defending people that assault others (asking why some men snap is saying its acceptable to hurt others-it's not). Every woman I know would support you as a victim of assault but you clearly are not offering any support for anybody else who has been assaulted. You're only concerned with yourself and you're absolutely playing the victim. Do better.

9 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

At the height of #metoo, my then-husband & I were discussing it. He said, "I think this whole thing is overblown. I don't know any woman besides you who's been assaulted by a man." I said, "Um, yes, you do." He swore he didn't. So I asked him to name 10 women he knew off the top of his head. Then I asked him to guess how many of those had been assaulted. He said 0. I told him I knew for a fact, at least 7 had and I suspected 1 more, but I hadn't confirmed it. 1/

9 months ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 2

He looked like he'd been punched in the gut and got quiet for a moment. Then, still in disbelief, he asked how I knew. I said, "Because they told me." He got choked up, then quietly asked, " ... Why wouldn't they tell me?" I told him it's probably because he's a man. Then we had a conversation about how women have our own culture that only we participate in, that men aren't privy to, because it's our way of keeping ourselves safe. And that's why no woman was calling #metoo "overblown." 2/

9 months ago | Likes 80 Dislikes 2

My niece thought I was over reacting when I reviewed self defense moves before she left for college. She recently said while being assaulted my voice saying, “cause as much pain as humanly possible” ran thru her head to her hands. She had never told family before (she graduated years ago).

9 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

And that's when he started crying. He learned that day. 3/3

9 months ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 3

Testosterone is a hell of a drug. Listening to guys complain about the disgust women have towards the patriarchy is like listening to billionaires complain about how no one likes them. It's like, "And? You don't see ANY reason why people might be a bit mad that they've been systemically, economically, physically, mentally, and emotionally repressed by an entire society lifting their abusers up on a pedestal?"

9 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 4

One problem is that privilege is very hard to see from the inside, so a lot of men have someone try explain male privilege to them, look at their lives and all their difficulties, look at all the things they think women have easier, and feel like they're being attacked and their problems ignored. Then a lot of them get defensive instead of trying to understand. And then sometimes they get the Manosphere telling them those feelings are valid and the people crticizing them are wrong.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(And of course this isn't even considering the people who don't care enough about anyone else to bother understanding, those who refuse to ever admit they're wrong, and those who *like* the misogyny.)

JFC seems like it works best with both of us. Maybe the bigger people(fucking regardless of gender) should be the firefighters and construction workers. And the more compassionate ones(once again, regardless of gender) should be the caretakers. And we should stop having these biases and just let humans do what they're best at. Regardless of fucking gender.

9 months ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

It's the societal inbuilt misogyny that keeps that from happening. We can't even handle large masculine women in entertainment professions like acting or sports without slandering them as being born biologically male. There's no way traditionally male professions like construction, fire fighting or law enforcement would not run those women out through hazing or rough treatment.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My daughter refused to compete in the high school electronics competition because of the rampant sexism. She found out she would have been the only female in a room full of 13 and 14 year old boys. She said no. Unfortunate because she was also the best student in her electronics course by far.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So, I am convinced the issue is that the boys were misparented... they were never taught to be men and to treat colleagues as equals...

Sure, they are barely teenagers, but you need to raise these boys to be good men, and their parents failed, miserably.

There is a difference between sexual harassment and peer bullying. Men bully men. Women bully women. When men bully women in the same way they bully men it isn't automatically sexual harassment. Trying to find it, but a long time ago I read an interesting paper that said often when men view women as peers in the work place and engage in the type of competitive bullying they do with other men it is often miscategorized as SH, and the opposite of discrimination (even though it is negative).

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Less swearing too. Maybe y'all just live in a shitty neighborhood. My experience is in Seattle.

So, I have had women bosses before and it really is no different to me... I was raised by a single mom with an absentee dad, so seeing a woman in a position of absolute authority is ordinary to me... TBH, I prefer working for a woman... mostly because they aren't as quick to judge an action and will investigate first (this is anecdotal AF, BTW... I am sure there are unreasonable women in leadership positions as well).

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm a woman in STEM. I dropped out of my first college because I was one of two girls in my year. The bullying wasn't just sexual harassment, there was a lot overall bullying because I was a woman and didn't fit in with the 'boys'. I went back to college in my late 20s/early 30s. My first internship I had several men openly comment "A woman in IT? How quaint!" to my face. I have had people in similar positions in other companies ridicule me over the phone for asking a question related but not >

9 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

> specific to my field just two months ago while treating male coworkers with utmost respect. I had to work so hard to be taken seriously that I'm overqualified for the position I'm in but stick with the company I'm at because I'm respected and valued as a human being before being a woman, something I'm not guaranteed to have anywhere else. I can't ignore the decade and a half of mistreatment I endured just because I'm now in a great company that values me.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

and misandry hurts women too.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I don't feel that it's any slight towards me personally to note that men are vastly overrepresented when it comes to statistics regarding violent crime, etc. It's an inescapable fact. I get why someone'd be wary of me, because statistically speaking, I'm a fucking threat, but since I don't partake in the kind of behaviour that'd contribute to these statistics, it's not a criticism levied against me personally, so it's no skin off my nose.

9 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Even though it does frustrate me I have to agree cuz most of the time when I hear people complaining about men I don't think it's about me or my any of my friends personally. But it does get tiresome when most conversations about men are either how lonely they are or how much of a problem they are there's a lot of men I hate out in the world and there's a lot of women I hate too most of them are conservative politicians. But that's a whole other thing entirely.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I think the subtext here that really should be clarified is that if they're going to use statistics to push their weird idea that women are useless as truth then, by their own logic, all men are dangerous and violent. The point is to try and frame how ridiculous they're being because obviously you're NOT. Unfortunately I think this really needs to be spelled out these days. Critical thinking is at an all time low and if these themes aren't put in plain sight, it just makes everything worse->

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

because the argument turns from "Statistics are not gospel" to "MEN BAD, ACTUALLY".

Like 98% of sex offenders are men, for example, is PROBABLY getting construed as "98% of men are sex offenders" which is, ha, no. 1 in 11 men (est) will go to prison in their lifetime. That's 9%. That's 15 million men, out of almost 200. A lot of men. But also, not a lot, when you run the comparison.

These days I just block people and move on. It ain't worth the argument. Most people are decent. I wish ->

basically, and women who fall in line with toxic femininity, usually in tandem with the men who are toxically masculine. being masculine or feminine isn't a negative or positive thing innately. the toxic fem is either a terf or a tradwife who plays victim when attacking acts as though they are pure when they cause problems, both believing their gender gives them a higher standing. toxic masc are those who push aggressive violence or coercion in such means listed earlier. and many more things.

Well, partly true. The legal system is often exceedingly harsh on women who use violence to protect themselves or their children. Because deep down, even subconsciously, a lot of people believe it's a man's job to protect women.

What world do you live in? Women have literally gotten away with murder for saying they were PMSing.. but meanwhile a woman could simply *say* a man touched her and suddenly he's in jail for years because of sexual assault.

What the fuck are you on about. Imagine thinking unsupported allegations of sexual assault have any significant rate of occurrence compared to the millions of sexual assaults that go unprosecuted because of systemic power imbalances, victim-blaming, and a deeply misogynistic and patriarchal society and culture. Lmao.
