No lips? But from whence does the term "stiff upper lip" come?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's not the amount of lips you have, it's what you do with them

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bri-ish.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Isn't the start of someone's fan fiction? "So, there was Loki, Smaug, and Spider-Man in James Bond's backyard"

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But there are three stiff upper lips!

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When did British get asterisks? Fucking get over yourself.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Is it always cloudy and desolate looking there?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've never been to The UK, or Europe. But England has called to me since I was a child. Everything I know in my soul calls England home. The language/multiple accents. The quirkiness. The weather. My soul says: throughout your multiple journeys of birth/rebirths... England has been home more than anywhere else. Through most of them I was a sailor. Serving The Crown in the merchant and military. I don't think I'd ever been to America except into north east coast ports. I hope to see it someday.

What do you call a group of lipless men? A Cumberbatch.

1 year ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 2

I'll sacrifice the lips for Hiddleston.

I'll have to kiss them all to determine if that's an issue. For science

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It’s called a “stiff upper lip.”. It’s what we brits do when being bombed nightly fighting and defeating nazis.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It's just that they have very thin lips. That's the joke.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Uhhhhhh….

1 year ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

The only way it can be more British is if he was robbing an Indian dude.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Stephen Fry would never.

I can’t tell if this is anti-York or anti-Brighton

The latter has smashing rumbles though

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If it's trying to be anti-York, it's not doing it very well. Yorkshire folk tend to embrace the 'tight-fisted, penny-pincher miserable git' stereotype.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That seems pretty anti-York to me

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I live in Yorkshire, it's like that.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

ngl, Brighton has it going on...

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's not bad.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Gahdayum, Brighton!

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The first time I went to York I was stopped and searched instantly by the police, literally as I stepped off the train onto the platform. I'm convinced it was because of my overly bright yellow T-shirt. Everyone else in the city was dressed in greys, khakis and navy. On the plus side, the officers were super friendly and one of them used to work for the same charity I went there to help.

OI, YEW GOT A LOICENSE TO SAY BR*T*SH?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can't park there mate

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

When aiming for accents, apostrophes are the preferred punctuation (or phonetics) ex. Br't'sh or Brih-esh

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Innit

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yebbut, speaking as a Bri*ish, and one with the requisite 'Estuary Accent' to boot, the title implies it's the 'i' sounds which are missing, when it's actually the 't' sounds. For example, the well-known 'bo'oh'o'wa'er'.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Don't say it too loud; they might try to colonize you

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I can't believe Canada hasn't got rid of the stupid uk monarchy, fuck the UK king

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Yeah? Well fuck you

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Another idiot supporting billionaires, fuck off

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You’re a know-nothing. The UK monarchy are a long way from being billionaires and neither does the UK support oligarchies or tax avoiders. Most of us proud liberal social democrats and proud of our constitutional monarchy which provided the checks and balances needed to protect us from sudden lurches into authoritarianism and fascism, which clearly is more than possible in the US. Anyone who thinks supporting King Charles = supports billionaires doesn’t know his arse from his elbow.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that's true, but how do you know OP didn't mean to say br*t*sh, which is was more offensive than british.

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 4

What kind of people? The kind that have been genocided by the British?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

That’s my thought as well.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I do. I'm really bad at it though. I should take lessons. If only the British had a show about how to irritate people...

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Man, are we really hated that much!

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Why do you consider the concept of British people offensive?

1 year ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

Because if you call someone from Wales or Scotland "English" they'll get nasty at you, so you say "British" to be safe.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

And Im sure most of them dont even appreciate that lmao

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0
