There's a style of rocking chair called an American rocking chair, at least local to me. They have a sort of track and a spring, so they're way less violent on the first backswing.
"You know when you're sitting on a chair and you lean back so you're just on two legs and you lean too far so you almost fall over but at the last second you catch yourself? I feel like that all the time..." ~ Steven Wright
Eh.. kind of enjoy it really. Means I don’t have to mske an account there and wade thtough tons of bullshit for something finny to watch. But you do you I guess…
Aside from an annoying watermark, which is no different than telltale signs on stuff pulled from other sources, I can't fathom why it would matter. It isn't forcing anyone to go on it, and the source doesn't degrade what the content itself is.
Honestly, I hate the sound added at the end when people pull stuff from Instagram... It grates my nerves when the "watermark" is so obtrusive (though at least it's cutable, being at the end). Did Tiktok do this before, too? I feel like they at least used to, but I don't recall seeing it happening lately on the content pulled from there (with this post as an easy example).
I'm not sure I seldom pull stuff from either, but yeah TT does no longer have the end thing when I download a video on PC. Anyway I'm mostly amused by the fact that content is judged differently based on a watermark, Instagram being just one example (funnily also a much shittier platform at this point).
I've never visited either, let alone pulled from them. I just vaguely remembered a similar annoyance once I mentioned Instagram's being annoying while also discussing Tiktok.
Only issue I have with anything is 9gag for Discord (embeds an image of a play screen, autoplays on page open while muted with hidden controls, while I also never remember where the unmute icon is), and Insta pulls on here (end sound). Pretty much just stuff that actually has an effect on my interaction with the content.
No reason? I work SO hard to fall asleep. I eat heavy, I get in a heavy bed workout, I squeeze the juice from the stone as many times as it takes, AND take melatonin AND Tylenol PM, AND a Xanax sometimes and I still wake up in the middle of the night.
bro you need more Magnesium. when you wake up in the middle of the night. take 1000mg of Calcium together with 500 mg of Magnesium, you will sleep like a baby
Serious question and I ask because the doctors finally listened to me and are saying I don't need it, have you tried a CPAP? Sounds like your doing a lot and it might be breathing. My big issue is getting to sleep, I can do all the things and lie awake because of ADHD. My brother for 35 years woke up in the middle of the night every night and tried everything. CPAP and he sleeps like a baby
Those nasal strips might be a good step 1? But I haven't tried em
Hypnic jerk, if you're experiencing it excessively oftentimes it's due to severe anxiety. If it keeps happening it creates a negative feedback loop where you're anxious it will happen and then it is more likely to happen. Covid times hit me with it bad
Lol this is fair but for the sake of sanity there are lots of OTC and prescription treatments to help, like a calming ritual before bed like reading, or tea, or anxiety meds. Keep in mind I'm not a doctor just a hypochondriac
I read or heard somewhere that the fear of falling is the only fear humans are born with, and all other fears are learned. Is that true or accurate? I dunno man, I'm high.
I'm sure someone murmured something like that under their breath once, but some fears are so obscure and ingrained that you have to wonder at the starting point
Yep for like vampires and zombies and stuff. What creeps us out is symptoms of disease. The sight of a very ill person will set you off just as well as the smell of shit. There's a lot of evolution telling you to avoid it because it could hurt you. Also there's a meme floating around that explains on like Tumblr or some shit that a lot of ways to fight movie monsters (like silver) stem from their antibacterial properties
That's also connected to the whole vampires have no reflections thing and why it doesn't work in a modern setting. Mirrors used to be backed with silver and nowadays they're backed with (I believe) aluminum

We do not.

As an aside, I really like that rocking chair design

This happens in office chairs way more often than in rocking chairs.

I've had insomnia my whole life. I've given up and just sleep when I can. Which often doesn't work with life. I just wanna die.
Bladedrummer
Myoclonic jerk. Your brain mistakes sleep for dying and tries to wake you up with a jolt.

It got bad enough to give me insomnia recently, I turned out to be severely anemic. Get checked!
