When girls in their dating profiles say they love museums, this is what i hoped they meant.

LindseyRaeMunson

My autism brain is brrr-ing so hard right now. Thank you for this.
LindseyRaeMunson
No problem! I got more. Lots more. I was going to get my pictures up of South Dakota soon.

Is that the new Trump park Dino museum"? I heard he was gonna take it over because it was to woke. Remove references to female dinos.
DinoBoy20
I dig it 🦴⛏️
Feralkyn
Dang, I wonder if any of these are the real bones?? These are so cool.
@OP I saw mention on the Museum's site that you can "smell the breath of the T-Rex" in an interactive thing... what's that about?? They waft stinky air at you?
FaTalTaTer
Growing up in Montana we went there for field trips many times. What a great museum.

This makes me want to play Animal Crossing again
Anybodys
So ahh you two dig up, dig up dino-saurs?
LindseyRaeMunson
You bet you butt! Best Dino we have found out and about here in Montana was the Terry badlands. Leg imprint just hanging out on the River shore line. There’s fossils everywhere here.
Anybodys
Jealous!!!

I love fossil exhibits. I'm so close to being one.

Hell yeah dinosaurs! Who's your favorite?

It’s a cool museum. We visited it probably 12 years ago when my boys were young. I had forgotten how many dinosaur bones there were. There was a temporary exhibit with recreations of Da Vinci’s inventions at the time.
Willk95
I love natural history museums and prehistoric fossils. If I make a trip out west to glacier/Yellowstone this summer, I’ll definitely stop at this place!
LindseyRaeMunson
It’s a great place to go! I have been to the Natural History museum in Dc and it was disappoint for dinosaurs. The Museum of the Rockies, is everything you wantted for a Dino museum and I highly suggest if you have time to check out the Bighorn national park. It’s awesome too.
Willk95
Yeah a lot of the Smithsonian museums are small and a little underwhelming. If you go to the AMNH in nyc you won’t be disappointed!
Yupurineutah
The University of Utah museum of natural history has an excellent collection.

Wow! In my retirement, I hope to drive around America and visit lots of fun places like this.

Excellent! Put the Bighorns on your list to please!

It's crazy that these things ever got so big. Like, to just soak in the fact that these things actually existed on the same earth we do as regular fauna, not monsters from tales. You could walk outside and see a bird-lizard thing the size of a schoolbus.
chaylar
Isnt that the Royal Tyrell museum?

Had a debate about the “Sitka Gear” brand with coworker a while back saying the log looks like a dinosaur (styracosaur) skull. He strongly disagreed since “dinosaurs have nothing to do with hunting”. Couldn’t get an answer from the company did but did quickly figure out that they were based out of Bozeman and that’s pretty suggestive in my opinion.
Feralkyn
It definitely does look like one, but it could also be two Sitka (Blacktail population) deer antlers crossed. But why don't you email them to ask? Tell them it's a question on a small social media site and you'd love an answer!
...And then tag me with it haha

Weird. People are funny here in Montana. I was a daycare manager for a while and we had Dino’s on the wall (mind you I grew up in Maine), I had so many people, MONTANAS, ask me why Dino’s would had been chosen. Complete shock when I said that fossil hunting is huge out here along with rockhounding. Locals!
vericon151
Dino’s have nothing to do with hunting? What kind of dumb statement is that? Or was he referring to just a few?
ShimmerinStrider
Love it

But the rockies are in Canada, silly!

Thanks! I am going through like 100k in photos right now. Lol more Montana on the way!

Yep! Loved that movie growing up and it’s a huge factor on why I am in Montana!

I worked in a tv hifi store at the time. Jurassic Parc was one of the demo movies! So I got to see it a lot lot. Played from a laserdisc on an excellent soundsystem. That one and the Abyss. Both

Love the fact that Velociraptors are actually the size of turkeys but Utahraptors are the size in the movie but they were only classified after the movie came out!!
TalleyZorah
Fun T-Rex Fact: There is a teeny tiny bone in the "ear" of T-Rex skeletons that is so delicate, it's almost always broken. At least as of a few years ago, there were only 3 "complete" skeletons IN THE WORLD that contain this bone. The Burke Museum in Seattle is one. A private collolector has another. Can't recall where the third one is-- might be owned by a private company but displayed by somebody else.

My thoughts too but I thought he had to return it for free even after paying millions or something for it. If im remembering correctly that is.

My guess would be InGen or Masrani Global Corporation /s
LindseyRaeMunson
That’s super cool! Thank you! Today I learned and added a new place to visit on my list! We are planning to move to Washington state eventually to explore for a few years.
TalleyZorah
When you go to Burke, definitely stop at the café and get the Native American fried bread, omg. Try to time it for early spring too, if you can-- the cherry blossoms will be in bloom. :)
TooCoolForZuul
the Burke is right by the University of Washington, which has magnificent cherry trees.
