We have a place in Colorado, and was just there. Knees aches, grumpy, back hurt and bone chilled. Love to ski, but damn if I'm not so much better with sand, sun, Pacific ocean, fish tacos and a cold beer. Oh and sandals. Because, well, fuck shoes.
I bought a pair of merino wool long thermal underwear. It was expensive AF but I have not, like, EXPERIENCED THE COLD ever since. They're so great. Wool socks, too. Shit keeps you warm even when sweaty or wet, unlike other fabrics. 10/10 do recommend the soft fuzz stuff.
No musqitoes, spiders or bugs of any kind. Never need to sweat or drink cold beverages just to keep cool. Need to warm up? Just add another layer of clothes or turn up the heater a bit. It's so much more manageable.
Same!! I live in Canada and love feeling the cool air on my face. The sky is so much prettier in winter. The stars and the moon shine brighter. How quiet it is outside after fresh snow. How the snow sparkles with the sunlight. As I get older, I think winter is about slowing down and enjoying the little things.

I miss the cold. Grew up where it would get to -40°C regularly, -70 with the wind a lot. Now I live more south and what I miss is the consistency. One day it's -20, next day it's +5 then back to -10.
If you have the proper attire, the cold don't matter. The heat in the summer though, there is only so little you can wear before peeling your skin off starts to sound like a good way to cool down.
If ya like swimming or long hikes through the shady forest summer is great. If you want you run around on pavement, or walk through a major city, maybe not. Then again I live in Maine where the hottest week is 85f lol.
I mean, sure, if all you ever do is vacation in warm weather, of course it sounds nice. But most of us also have to live normal lives in this heat, and THAT is when it gets miserable.
