Some years ago, I was in target toy aisle and my kid started playing with another kid in a very hilarious fashion. As a happily married man, I made some dumbass jokes with the mom. She was pregnant as hell with the next one and absolutely did not appreciate my sense of humor, which tbh, is totally fair. That mom was Hillary Duff and this picture makes me wish, while I am still a happily married man, that I made much better jokes.
When I was a kid in the 80s, a lot of women didnt like having a pronounced posterior. Like, it was actively avoided. Then the switch flipped and now a diminutive backside is what is scorned.
Naw, to me this is a little bit cartoonish. Though 'diminutive' isn't exactly what I'd jump at either. To each his own really, we're not in thigh-ocracy, or whatever.
Being slim and fit was a thing in the late 70s and 80s. Firm smallish butt. Then came the injectable boob craze starting in the mid 80s. Am female and I lived through it. Then it all became about a big backside. Go figure. It will either repeat itself or find something new next time around.
Likely shopped, but I don't know for sure. I will never understand why people think abnormally large, cartoonish asses look better than the real thing.
Nickelodeon had a rule that their child actors wouldn't have a show lasting more than two years because they didn't want them to get weird. That went out the window with the popularity of Hannah Montana.
The dude has multiple 50 plus point seasons in the NHL, he's not a superstar, but those #s are far from terrible. Besides, Brian Scalabrine kinda demonstrated that pros are SIMPLY on a different level than mortals. This man is far closer to Gretzky than most skaters are to him.
So maybe the year after the Celtics won, I went to see them in Portland. We snuck down to court level during pregame, just watching right off the floor. Scalabrine was guarding Rondo 1v1 and basically locking him down. Obviously he had a length advantage, but his athleticism was really impressive for an end of the bench, big.
Please understand I am kidding and talking shit for fun. We lost, and he didn't help us get one either, but the gripes are far from really meaningful. She's also amazing and I met her at WEM a long time ago
Yes, that is literally how it works. years of hard work only puts you ahead of everyone who never did any work at all. It doesn't put you ahead of the 2000-10,000 other people who worked just as hard as you who graduate EVERY YEAR with your skillset. Your success in life is almost entirely down to luck and nepotism, that's the difference between mediocrity and wealth.
Aside from the check, he did put in work. This being said, I knew 20 other poorer kids with way better skills who could never get ice time for practice because the rich kids rented the whole rink out. Now, again - I grew up in an insanely hockey oriented town, twice. Edmonton and Kelowna. I went to private school in Kelowna. I knew 3 draftees, 1 contracted player. My 5th grade friend went to coach in the German hockey league. Now, not to be rude - please show me an NHL star who grew up poor
PK Subban grew up in Etobicoke, relied on Canadian Tire support to start his hockey career, if memory serves. It's why his commitment to public service remains strong, he wants to give back to communities.
Thank you! This is true! How many more people could be like PK if they weren't priced out of practice time with professionals? How many Gretzky's could there be if we didn't institutionalize hockey into a financial lottery?
