The local chik-fil-a here has more LGBT+ employees than any other fast food place in the city. According to the one I talked to after a college class, they basically said they've never once been discriminated against there by the other employees and managers and so it gained a reputation as being a decent job to get while in college. Shocking as it may be to hear, just because there is a shit owner, doesn't mean the entire business follows them down the toilet.

I understand the broad strokes, but there are an innumerable number of Christians that live more true to the teachings, at least in terms of acceptance and embrace of what particular sects determine to be undesirable or sinful; they just don’t feel the need to take to social media in defense. It’s not even evangelicals or “conservatives”. It’s just the bad ones. The people who think they are “good Christians” because of the church they attend, rather than the way they live their lives.

Thank you. Not religious myself, but my family is full of the non-dickhead Christians. The differentiation is meaningful. My dad worked with his United church here in the Toronto area and the congregation to become an trans-affirming space with the support of those who attend. I've also met some folks who were ostracized from their evangelical or orthodox church. For those with whom religion is important, these refuges are life savers!
