No hesitation to come back for my mean awkward little parrot
Thunderchief1
No hesitation at all. Already done it once.

I have 11 animals. Someone is being left or my bf or I are dying. :C

a nice sentiment, but dumb. fire doesn't kill you, smoke does. 1 breath & you die from cyanide poisoning. Now there's 2 dead bodies inside

When I was a kid, I had plans on how to save my stuffed animals if there was a fire. I agonised over probably not being able to save all.
BLOOD4THEBLOODGOD
My apartment burned down 3 years ago. The very first thing I did was grab my cats. They are the only thing I can't replace.
ExaDeuce
He'd come back for me. HE'D COME BACK FOR ME.

'Twas I who set the house ablaze!
DarkmoonLizard
...I was wrangling 2 cats, a lizard, and a dog as tornado sirens went off today...so yes I'd go back for a pet
HerschelKrane
Or the meth head that ran back into a burning house and saved someones dog , but there was no fire.
microwavesemen
I love my pets a lot but realistically I would not go into a burning building to save them. I couldn't risk my life like that. Imagine how
Your mom would feel?
widgieqoio
My best friend and her brother ran into their burning garage to save their cats. I would do the same.

These are the times it is nice to have Velcro dogs. Our dogs is always right with me. Now our cat would be a different story.

Every time I have had to put a dog down, I spent months knowing I was their caretaker, and failed. Nope, no hesitation for a simple fire.
Cebrail
Absolutely no doubt, I would risk my life to save my parents dog or most animals in general to be honest. People, thats another story
ablindbear
I have straight up gone back into a burning house to get my best friend's stupid fucking dog who locked himself in the bathroom.
ThomasThundersword
i always said i would. sadly one day my house did catch fire, and i 100% went back in for my kitty’s. fortunately the fam managed to keep>
the fire contained to one room and knock it down with extinguishers before the fire dep even arrived and no one was hurt.
WWisLife
No question.

NO HESITATION. Im not leaving until my dog is in my arms

I could never leave her behind. If the building isn't already falling down, I'm bringing her out.
candiduscorvus
Not sure I would. My cat hides like a moron when she knows it's urgent to go and I'm not dying for the one thing she does that pisses me off
Draygen
I would probably nearly die looking for mine, and the whole time he'd be hanging around outside watching the fire.
theErlKing28
Ok yea, I love pets too but the problem is that when you go back in, you aren't just risking your own life. If you pass out or get trapped,
Firefighters will have to go in and get you. When we say don't go back in for anything, we mean it.
YouJustActivatedMyTrapCard
Go back? I would never leave him in the first place
CwmMakesPeopleCryInScrabble
I've had alarms go off twice (only one was real), and I was out in under two minutes with three cats jammed in a carrier both times.
Good for you. Luckily I just have one lizard to shove into a cat carrier.
My cats are luckily needy as fuck, so they don't hide when they're scared. They come to me.
Cmycherrytree
We have 5 people and 10 animals and everyone knows what to do. We've practiced and keep our bunnies and guineas by the door for this reason.
DelectablePeanut
I have twice gone into burning buildings to save OTHER peoples' pets.

Thanks for what you do, both in general and specifically about the pets. Few occupations deserve as much love as firefighters.
