Now the annoying bugger was at the rear window, making audible "buzz-buzz" noises as it spiraled itself against the glass.
I pulled over. Got out, and opened the tailgate. Wouldn't leave. So, SWAT!
A few days ago I went to take out the trash, and as soon as I opened the backdoor an entire squadron of flies invaded my home - like they were just waiting for me to open the door. Needless to say I got in a lot of target practice that day.
Basically any co2 pellet pistol can be used for this. Just a bit of paper wading if you want to preserve the gun from damage from rust & such and then load it with salt like a musket. It'll kill flies from across my folks living room.
Also I once had an insane amount of flies in a shop I was supposed to be working in and there was just too many for me to comfortably work around because I had to keep the room sealed from gusts of wind(was tig welding.) anyhow I had a leaf blower, a full face respirator, and a can of raid. I just turned the blower on full blast & sprayed the raid into the blower. In about 10 seconds literally 100s of the flies dropped(they had fk-ed & need over a long week in a open can of dog food apparently)
It's a 3 foot kill range and works like a shotgun so you don't have to be the most accurate, though it's still fun to aim down the barrel. The company even sells a laser sight, which amuses me.
Naw plenty of range! 3' is basically a guaranteed kill though I've hit around 4-5, and if it just knocks 'em down you can easily walk up and give 'em the coup de grâce. I usually always use the sights: keep my point shooting eyes sharp.
