Filming this and uploading it for internet points really takes something away from the nice gesture. At least it does to me. I'm sure I'll get plenty of hate for that, but I think this stuff is sort of weird.
Works the other way round as well btw. I’m saying this because NONE of the situations shown in the clip were male cooking for female (let alone other constellations). :/
I love how many of you are so worried about how there wasn't a man shown doing it and have to instantly validate that.. do you look at every little thing and do this when just women are shown doing something? What about when just men are shown? Do you really need it specifically shown within the video for validation?
I do it in both directions honestly. Also if only men doing crafts would be shown with a corresponding comment I’d be annoyed too since i am a carpenter and in my old job my female coworker was doing the best quality of work compared to us dudes. She only had to ask for help carrying stuff every now and then. Same as me btw since I’m not the strongest. The world is more complex than always the same gender doing the same stuff. And that video suggests that this is not the case.
Humans are simple creatures. I'm not really food motivated but I'd be just as happy when someone hands me a pizza. Or some weird tool, animal bones, minerals, all kinds of things.
i mean a couple look like the guy just got home. meaning they wouldn't of been home to smell it. of course that all the more makes it smell like trad wife glorifying bait. where's the cooking guy clips w know hey out there
When my wife is on her phone, the rest of the world doesn't exist. I've spent 2 hours cooking and filling the house with smells and she doesn't realize until I tell her it's ready. Some people just tune out all other senses when focused on something.
Thats all what we are asking Women THAT IS ALL what we are asking. Coming home knowing we are coming to someone who loves us enough to cook us a delicious meal. Also head scratches and back scratches and loyalty
WOW you completely miss the fucking point. Go fuck yourself! Why in your bullshit narrow mindset are you conjoining the idea that a man who comes home gets a fully cooked meal is considered "trad-wife" propaganda? Why is it now in this day and age is it so FUCKING hard for a man to get love from his wife/partner/Girlfriend the smallest thing she could do is prepare him a cooked meal? Are you saying these men dont deserve a cooked meal? FUCK YOU! I hope no one loves you and you stay miserable.
Cooking guy side note, when making sheet pan nachos. Use parchment paper not aluminum foil ( unless it's very heavy duty) as the cheese cools, it will stick to the foil and tears when you pick up a chip, definitely not good eats.
Also don't get parchment and wax paper mixed up .. parchment is for baking and wax is for wrapping cool sticky things in... Like Carmel popcorn balls, chocolate dipped strawberries and cooled candies... Wax paper starts melting in the oven and is a potential fire hazard. My gal friend found out, almost started a fire in her oven, so much smoke, just be careful. Happy cooking.
Ive heard that coating a non stick pan in a little bit of butter and cooking on top of that is good eats versus a liner. But I'm not a cooking guy so wanna hear your thoughts?
A layer of food lube, butter or spray does help with the non stick side of it. But cheese can still stick under the right circumstances like lack of spray, too much heat, ect... Also parchment keeps most of the pan clean, much easier on the clean up side. Also parchment is also sold in pre cut sheets instead of a roll, helping getting the right size you need...( Crap I sound like a commercial, but wait there's more.... )
+1 on the parchment paper. Taught my teen sons how to use the air fryer so they can make their own food, and the paper makes cleanup so easy, so there’s no excuses. I use air fryer liners that are shaped to fit the basket
Why is this considered content? Are you people just not doing nice things for each other? Why? That's like... The best part of a relationship... You should be doing that all the time...
It tells a lot more about you that your first thought is that this was ONLY done for the content.
If they're in the habit of making content, why wouldn't you film the genuine reaction you know you'll get with a surprise like that. Maybe the gesture came first and the thought to make it into content second.
If you're getting reactions like this it means you don't normally do these things or it's staged for content. If you're used to doing nice things for each other you'll still say thank you and such but not jump for joy at a simple meal..
Have to be in a relationship first. Been so long and I had such a fucked childhood I don’t even know where to begin, last girl I talked to just ghosted me randomly, no clue why
So i tried tonight, and I fucked up so bad. My chorizo was so garbo (like im just bad at cooking too often, especially when ive never made) and id rather just have been admitted to "yeH u were bad at it, but i appreciate it, and youre gonna not fuck up next time." But hey were learning and growing together. Also my place smells like a crime scene for murder arson of a pig, and she went home
Why we gotta judge people for this? Us personally, we don't have time to spend more than like, an hour cooking tops most nights, and that's while trying to keep track of kids and keep everything moving along.
Especially the ones where you can see they have kids, I can understand the surprise/appreciation. And who knows, maybe they do nice things for each other in other ways, but food like this is not one of them(looks that way). Just sayin, my wife, not the best cook so I'd be surprised too.
I feel this, Im not much for cooking but ill show my love through making sure things are neat and clean. Like when my bf came home from a long trip visiting family in Vietnam I made sure the whole place was deep cleaned so he could relax from all the traveling.
That's what I'm sayin, even an hour cooking is lucky. I can do a little more depending on what the kids feel like doing at the time but if their ornery at all, it's gotta be a quick thing a lot of the time.
Anything I can throw together and put in the over for 30min is perfect.
I thought the same thing… I think the only one that hit was the lightly fried fish filets. That guy looked like he had a long day and this was just what he needed. Otherwise, weird content.
It is. And celebrating a partner that cooks is one thing, this comment thread went another step and shamed people who cannot do this. Shaming us TV dinner women.
Because when I was married for ten years, after coming home from working 18 hours to pay for her college and all our bills. All I got was a "honey do" list of her homework, every surface in the house covered in beer bottles from the 5th party in a row that she never cleaned up after, and getting screamed at for having the audacity of asking for dinner because I had to be awake for work in 6 hours to do it again. And when I finally had a mental breakdown over it I was told to man up.
Now that I'm 35, divorced, parentally physically crippled, covered in emotional baggage, and just want a partner I can cry in front of and not be hit in return. Which means by todays standards, I'm undatable.
hey ok, i hear that youve seen some shit, (we have all seen some shit in bad relationships...physical abuse does it for me) if something like this (women baking dinners on the internet?...) is triggering for you, have you thought of seeking out some mental health measures like therapy?
A question was asked, I answered. Basic kindness from a loved one is going above and beyond when people so readily abuse each other. I am not triggered, I am stating a fact. This is what happened to me instead of getting a nice dinner.
Best advice I can give is to rediscover what you like about yourself and stop defining your value based on your paycheck. What brings you joy? Drawing stupid pictures? Gardening? Building a pinewood derby car? Volunteering with boy scouts or big brother or similar to be there for some kid? Doing the same for a dog or cat? Don't fixate on dating, let that come later. Find your joy and show it off, either your partner will find you through it, or you'll be left single and happy.
Cool. Done. Its been years. The kid she showed up with at the divorce hearing, that was born 9 months after she kicked me out because "she couldn't take it anymore", because she was cheating on me after she crippled me and I was unable put out or walk more than 10 feet, is now school age. I am trying to date because the crippling loneliness is too much. I even had a few dates with an amazing woman, that left me last night because my need for emotional safety before sex is too slow for her.
Hi from the internet randos. We dont know you. We dont live with you. we dont know what being married to you is like. Only she does. But so far we do know you like bagging her out to us internet randos as communication of your feelings.
Sounds like couple therapy might help. that is... assuming your story is remotely real.
Man I’m really sorry to hear that. If it’s something you’d like to change, I hope you can discuss it with her.
My wife & I get each other little presents pretty regularly and it’s always nice.
Today she brought a fast food dinner home because while I’m the one who cooks mondays are always hectic cuz I work both my jobs. It was a small thing but it saved me from rushing and I appreciated it.
I do this all the time... But I'm the guy. What I'm saying is I do the cooking. And yes I'm that good. And no I don't live alone. ( The other half, can't/won't/doesn't cook)
My wife only enters the kitchen to grab coffee. She hasn't cooked in a decade. I do the cooking. I also bake the bread. She doesn't like cooking and I do. Pretty simple stuff, really.
Nope to... General house chores, cooking, cleaning, dishes, loading or unloading the dishwasher, vacuuming, sweeping the floor, cleaning the kitchen, changing her cat's litter boxes, doing her laundry, folding her laundry.... She'll wash out her coffee cup and sometimes put her dishes in the sink, so that's something. If I don't have a lunch for her she always eats a cup of noodles. Same dinner every night if I don't cook or I'm not home, microwave chicken pot pie....
Sounds like my wife. She will leave her dirty dishes on the coffee table for days. She works from home, and works about 60 hours a week. But lazy everywhere else
She was basically raised this way, her mom and two sisters do the act the same way, she also had child like food phobias, like never trying different food on a menu, same thing every time, food will not taste sweet unless it candy or desert, such as honey ham or maple breakfast sausage, sweet foods like that are a red flag. A soup with too many sweet potatoes or carrots she won't eat because they add a sweetness to it.
Okay funny yes but fr acts of love shouldn't be transactional though --- the thoughtful gesture should just linger as-is for a bit. The guys should get to just enjoy their meals without expectation or obligation of immediate reciprocation. Then in the future hopefully they are inspired to do something nice for the girlfriend/wife. If its a healthy relationship they are both being spontaneously inspired to do nice things for each other at random times.
This is actually a known issue with relationships lately.. there's this weird transactional thought of like the man should only care about getting sex from the woman and in order to get that he has to do a list of things. Women constantly use sex as a weapon too.. then when the relationship goes bad nobody knows why somehow..
Doing something for the person you love should be just that. About doing something for them. If there's any expectations tied to it then the whole point is ruined.
Lately as in it has become an actual known issue. Like there are studies on it and the effect it's having with straight people lol both the men and women are developing issues because of it.
While absolutely true, it can be a part of a healthy relationship to pretend sexual favors are reciprocation. There are people out there who have fun doing that.
You think you have fun doing that. But it quickly turns sour. You shouldn't be doing random nice things with the expectation that something will happen afterward. If so, it's a nice bonus, but it shouldn't be *why* you did it.
