Used to share my office wall with a Crossfit gym, listening to weights drop all day like that is enough to drive anyone insane!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Thought she was going to step under that one end of the barbell while it was bouncing.

9 years ago | Likes 207 Dislikes 1

I was worried that was going to happen, too. That's how I lost a toe a few months back =(

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Working on her fitness, I'm her witness!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I want to look like her when I grow up

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She's practicing to lift my massive... ego.

Gaddam she murica'd the shit out of those weights

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I don't see it. I mean there's not a single bite mark.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What, are those ten pound plates?

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 7

Probably 45 with rest 10s. Still an impressive power snatch weight

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Crossfit is a joke lol

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 33

Good thing shes an world record holding Olympic weightlifter and not a crossfit games competitor

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

im pretty sure this is mattie rogers, who is an Olympic weightlifter. and also adorable.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

She is a cutie.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sandman says as he stands up too fast and starts to wheeze.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

So, why is the weight dropping thing...a thing? That doesn't seem like it would be good on your floor or your kit (and put you at risk!)

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

They aren't falling on the floor, they're falling on high density latex foam mats.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't try it with normal weight plates. These are bumper plates & meant to bounce. Olympic lifting is more about the lift section of a move

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Because in olympic lifts there is no appreciable negative portion of the lift, meaning trying to lower it under your control serves no use

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

for strength building. Because of that, and how explosive the movement is to get it overhead, it would make you more prone to injuries to

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

lower it under full control. You will see them doing so in sets with multiple sets, but anything that is a solid % of their best will just

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

about always get dropped from the top. With bumpers these dont damage a floor actually meant for lifting so it's fine,

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Ah, got you.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn. That's a beautiful snatch. I'll see myself out. Please don't call security.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Also, I think that's about 195 lbs. 45 bar, 2 25s, 10 10s. Incredible strength.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unless she's using a 35lb bar. I counted 2 25s 1 15 3 10s 1 5 and 1 2.5. God crossfit has so much damn math in it

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aren't bumper plates wonderful?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

wtf? is that like 450?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 6

185 if I had to talk a gamble but that's pretty impressive.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

About 90 kg according to her instagram

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(45*2)+(25*8)+bar 45+smaller weights = I'm thinking 350lbs. That is pretty damn impressive.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

It's not. Those damn cross fitters and their fake weights are at it again. No way in hell a girl <160 pounds just snatched 350.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Shes a world record Olympic weigght lifter not a crossfitter and bumperplates are official record setting weights not fake weights

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Without knowing the weights, and having a decent understanding of what is possible for a human, I can tell you she isn't snatching >300 lbs

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No she isnt since the World Record for a full snatch in Womens heaviest class is barely over 300lbs.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those are not Olympic weights, which are color coded. I am not saying that the weights are not real, just that their weight is unknowable

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

All bumper plates arent Official Oly plates but Oly plates are bumper plates. If you use bumper plates you know the weight by thickness

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All bumper plates that are single color have plates different thickness while mostcolor coded plates are much more similar in size

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2 45s 8 10s and one 33 lbs womens barbell plus micro plates for 200lbs ish

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Rubber plates. The large inner ones are 45 and the others are 25. It's been awhile but that's how they were for me

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

If she's the all American champ, it's fair to assume that's at least 205 lbs. (45+10s) could be more though

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

45s inside 10s outer and a womens 33lbs bar plus the micro plates ate the end for around 200lbs+

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not all are 25. Most likely 5s and 10s.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Those are definitely 25s and 10s tops, otherwise she's clean and pressing over 300lbs.. And she is not big enough for that.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

25 inside and the rest are 10s. Its still like 155 and she's not even struggling

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anything over BW snatch is difficult so I'm impressed regardless

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The outer plates are 15's

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No that has to be wrong. That would put it at 335.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's probably two 25s and the rest are 10s

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

45 on the inner two, outer 8 are 15s

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

plus 10 and 5 outside

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yea 175.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Nah, those inner plates are 50s, then 25s then 10s then 5s. It's 375 by my count

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

Idk if I'm crazy but the leggings make the striped leg look bigger

9 years ago | Likes 131 Dislikes 6

Confirmed

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

except for when she turns to walk away then stars are bigger! Its like perspective magic.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Illusions, Michael.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Upvote for Lost Boys reference :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When I see those all I think is napoleon dynamite

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And somehow sexier!?!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's the angle. The thickest part of the quads and hamstrings are aligned on the star leg, while you see the full display on the striped

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

White enbiggens, dark tightens.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's what she said

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Think it's a combo of having more white and the angle of the shot.

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Maybe the angle of the leg?

9 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

Gotta love 15 lb CrossFit weights that look like 45s

9 years ago | Likes 154 Dislikes 63

So like 150 lbs for my fellow Americans

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I was going to say those can't be 45's she'd be dead.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

those would be called bumper plates and were made for the Olympics long before crossfit ruined everything.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

From what I see, inner plates look like 45's other 4 are 15's. That puts her at 260lbs. That's likely double her body weight.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No. Those inner plates are the 25s and the outers are 10s. We have those plates in both our gym and the one down range. They suck ass.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably around ~200#. Inner plate is 35# , thin plates are 10#, + the 5# and 2.5#. The bar looks to be a ladies Oly bar so 15kg or 33 lbs

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Those don't look like 45 lbs plates. The thickness isn't right.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

I think the thickness is just right.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They are called bumper plates and have always been used in Olympic lifting... so you can drop the bar.

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

Oh no, she only snatched ~200, what a wimp.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well that's kind of irrelevant seeing as she's one of the best pound-for-pound Olympic lifters in the world...

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 3

OK, guys. Find how much she lifted. Lift the same. Come back and make fun of her. If your spine hasn't jumped out of your body, that is.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

None of those weights look like 45s. If you are talking bumper plates, 45s are near 4 inches thick.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

Possibly the inner ones, now that the gif stopped on me for a moment.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

first one on the bar is a 45

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

15 lb x 10 = 150 lb without bar. Less than 1% of us could do what she did.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Her snatch record is over 230lbs. So I'm guessing that weight would be no problem for her.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's a purpose for them all being the same size. Powerlifting and Olympic lifting has been doing this for decades. Lol @ crossfit weights

9 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 4

Was thinking the exact same thing

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I was like there is no chance those are 45s. 25s maybe lol

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

The bar is likely a 15kg womens bar first plate looks like 20kg and the rest are the same and likely 4.5kg. Plus micro weights on the ends

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

so around 70 kgs? still mighty impressive ! but it just looks like a jaw dropping more because of the size of it !

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

91 kg-ish. She holds the american record for her weight class in the lift and won the american open and the university worlds recently

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That would be 295lbs if that's a 45lb bar

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Its likely not since women use a smaller diameter bar in competition and they wouldnt train with a larger size. Its a 15kg bar

All barbells have different snap to them so the weight affects them differently but at 95kg its unlikely the bar will bend

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sadly, Olympic bars are made to bend as little as possible, whereas some others are designed to bend a lot. Bending may mean nothing

Well, that's cause they are moving a shitton of weight and jerking it quickly. Any bar would bend here

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Olympic bars still bend with weight on them

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Had me confused as fuck cuz i just deadlifted 310 and im looking at this chick like im a bitch lol

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

You're still a b!%*#, Jenkins.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She's strong af tho. Almost made Olympic team

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

#almost

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 10

The only reason she didn't is bc American lifters in other weight classes had better chance to medal. She has American records in all events

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Cool

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

You're right af

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait you mean like bumper plates. That all Olympic lifts use? Crossfit didn't make that up.

9 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 4

Olympic plates are made by ivanko. They're calibrated high density iron. These are made by Rogue, and completely different.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Execpt all olympic weights are colored, where as every cross fit plate is all black and the same color.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 7

Yeah not many people know this. Looks like that could be 200kg but is probably 80 or lower. Especially with how high it bounces

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 6

Who cares what it looks like? The weight don't lie

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

it only looks that way to people who only see iron plates. People who use bumper plates know the width difference

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

https://www.instagram.com/p/BHaDrz_g4kS/ 90ish kg

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Don't get me wrong that's a lot, but I can do that, which doesn't make it nearly as impressive as the weights make it look.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Yeah, but do you have boobs?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

That's a complex she is doing, not one rep max. See her lifts at US Opens and other competitions.
