Otherwise it's fundamentally cringe and is rude to everyone else and occasionally very regrettable to the clown, it messes with record keeping, it creates a hazard to both them and others, and like the first guy shows it breeds panic leading to illegal moves.

You can see Amorelli slow down even before reaching Jerky-vich, so it seems like he intended to hand the victory to him.

My children's band teacher always says you are not competing against the other bands, you were competing against your best score.
It helped motivate them last year to the point where they got second at state.
Every competition was a better score than the previous one and their final score was the best the school has ever received.
