Some people don't get, that you cannot say, that you respect someone's freedom of religion, when their religion tells, them, that Gods wants them to enforce their will upon others. If forcing your dogmas on others is a tenet of your religion, fuck your religion, you cannot have it. Either the tolerant Christians finally convince you to change your ways or Christianity must be banned.

The heart of the point is that the only way they are able to practice their own beliefs is to let others do the same…. Otherwise you get state-sponsored religion, which was WHY WE MADE A NEW COUNTRY. Therefore, forcing your belief into others is fundamentally un-American.

As an addictions counselor, I’ve found the most common underlying addiction to them all is co-dependence- one of its main ideas is that “I know better than you, and you should do what I say”. It’s like playing god- but instead of doing the inner work required to unhook from that, it’s now these people making laws for everyone.

So so many countries do. An example is polygamy. It is illegal in many parts of Europe because it is a sin for Christians so it became part of the laws early on since Christianity was the dominant religion for hundreds of years and it was never changed
