For every upvote I will donate $2 to charity at new Year! (MESZ Time)

The year is about to change, and the people with it. Now while you are trying your best to change yourself, I thought I would help other people to change and get better for new year!
For every upvote, I will donate TWO Dollars to charity. Won't count downvotes.
For those who think that I should donate already: I did, I already donated earlier (Check my other posts)
I probably won't donate to St. Jude's again so please message me your suggestions for charities.
Lets bring those in need the best year they probably had in a while!
Happy new Year :)

TL;DR - For those still doubting me, I did something similar earlier and also posted a Delivery to imgur. Will do the same at new Year! Happy new Year!

FP Edit:
Didn't really expect so many suggestions! I'm trying to answer every Chat Message, but I can't answer everyone! But you can still send me more suggestions, I like to hear!
And keep in Mind: I may donate alot after this, but that doesnt mean a smaller donation isn't worth less. Donate yourself and make you and others happy! :)

Donation Edit:
I donated $65,000 for New Year (Double amount of points at that time in $!)

@op will you be donating to only US charities? Can we make international suggestions?

If we downvote you into negatives and suggest "A bank," will you go on a heist?

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

I don't want to be that guy but isn't it possible to just pay $5 and then use inspect element to change what the confirmation thing says

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Do I get a tax credit for up voting?

Saw this post, thought I missed the new year.

Local food banks are some of the best charities to donate to. Super low overhead. They buy food with like 98% of the money that comes in.

9 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 3

My job is non profit best practice research for work. In my experience, places that have super low overhead are doing creative accounting.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not if the space they operate in is leased for free and they run off volunteers. It can be done. Just hard to do

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

True. But a lot of orgs misrepresent how they spend. I could name some, but that would detract from the good work they do. I don't 1/?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/? Mean to detract from any organization. Despite how negatively the media covers non profits, the vast majority do wonderful work.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Am celebrating myself right now but will donater after I am back!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So many worthy causes it will be difficult to choose! Hope your own celebration was filled with joy.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, and I already donated, check the post update

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Give somewhere local to you. Smaller charities tend to make the most use of the money donated. People are cold and hungry where you live?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Post a video of you donating instead of a screenshot

Might I suggest the National Youth Science Foundation? Because #Science!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ok. Ill add one up as well. Since other ones did it. Besides the $1k I was going to. Let's do one $ for each upvote as well. For some good!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

For every upvote I get, I will do age 1 cent to a charity, cap for 20$

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's like the p2w version of imgur

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Let me know where you will donate to and I will donate another $1000. I have a bit to spare. :)

9 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

My favorite local charity is Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee. They do a lot of good work in the area.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

VetRanch on youtube is a great place to donate.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I do not believe that

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 4

What if you get like 20k upvotes?

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I will done as said and donate twice the amount of upvotrs to Charity. :)

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 4

Are you Bill Gates? Or are you just the social media guy for a company with that much money to toss around?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thank you, OP. Doctors Without Borders is an admirable charity.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

I second this! No politics, just good works.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank you for just being an amazing human being @viralpro88.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Thank YOU!

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

I'm going to upvote you and request your local no-kill shelter. Animals have no choices.

9 years ago | Likes 503 Dislikes 40

Plenty of people have no choices.

9 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 14

I concur.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Exactly

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Agreed. In respect to OP's donation, I may just donate to RAINN or another that tends to victims of trafficking. None have choices there.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Many of their animals are from abuse and neglect cases and need extensive medical care and love! They give these animals a second chance.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I work for a no kill shelter in Las Vegas. I want to like your post multiple times, but alas, only one will occur.

9 years ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 3

I'm in Vegas too. I don't have a lot of money but I'd love to volunteer at a no kill shelter here. Any advice on how I could do that?

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Thank you kind human. Thank you

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Br, doggos and such.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This may be a dense question, but what exactly does a no-kill shelter have over another kind of shelter? IS there another kind of shelter?

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Basically they refuse to take animals in need because they don't euthanize. The animals are then sent to shelters that do euthanize.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Yes there is. They kill animals after a certain amount of time has past and they haven't been adopted

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Oh. That's really sad :/ We have a rescue cat, but beyond that I've never looked into shelters or how they work or anything like that.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

It is sad :( glad you have a rescue though!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yes, and unfortunately they are necessary. Many people don't want to adopt from kill shelters because they don't "support" killing 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Putting down an animal that is sick or inured I understand, but not just bc of time. That's not necessary

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

But aggressive and very ill animals can't be left on the streets. No-kill shelters refuse animals after they are full... 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Would you consider donating to the top voted comment on this post? Assuming of course they are a legitimate suggestion

9 years ago | Likes 104 Dislikes 7

It's themselves, I wonder how that would work out

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I will consider, but not guarantee.

9 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 4

Well I can guarantee "money for tedbutts" is a legitimate charity.

9 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 1

Doctors Without Borders. They're ranked very high as their people volunteer & they have very low 'organizational' costs. No overpaid CEO etc

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Donated to them during a "Games done Quick" event ... I think they're deserving.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also- Thank you for doing this. You're amazing.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I remember I was attempting a world record to raise awareness and funds for a charity a while back but they had no interest, 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

In helping with the publicity. Holding a big cheque and being filmed for the documentary was the only thing that interested them.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Who was the charity ? And did you still stick with them ?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a long story but it's not right to shame them.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't stick with the world record attempt as like a house of cards it just fell apart, sometimes everything just conspires against you.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As one of those in need, would you be willing to consider splitting the donations over a few different charities? I.E. homeless shelters,

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

Cancer centers, children's research hospitals etc. If not I understand but these places really helped my family out and they deserve so much

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

more than I'll ever be able to give and so much more than they currently get.

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 7

Yes.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 12

And a reply. I wish I could give more.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 11

Especially since the incoming feds are going to try and defund it, they need all the money they can get

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 6

Hmm, there's another suggestion up there for disabled veterans. Just me, but I think Helping Veterans > Helping baby killers ... just me?

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 46

Everyone:

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Look at this guy who thinks veterans have never killed children.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

PP aborts fetuses. Soldiers kill actual, breathing human beings- including children.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

My sister found out she had cancer because of planned Parenthood. Ur an ass hole

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think Planned Parenthood should also be recognized for the sexual education they provide and STD testing in areas where it is not readily

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 5

Why not give to the many clinics that specialize in these other women's services and focus on helping women more than making money??

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you have a suggestion :o I donate more to help shelters for animals than humans ' '

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Planned Parenthood doesn't even provide mammograms (!!), so I'd do a search locally for a clinic that does, and (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

available which in the end, does save plenty of lives too. I'm not one for abortion either, but you can't deny they do a lot of good

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

You can make a suggestion without being a shitlord about your opinion.

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 10

Oh, oh, I see. So I can't diss Planned Parenthood? Someone's gotta for all the would-be children that can't diss em now.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 30

PP also provides ob/gyn health care for women who otherwise couldn't afford it. Paps, birth control, birth options, counselling.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

A small portion of their business. Meanwhile, thousands of other women's clinics focus on those things and not marketing.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

The lack of empathy for womens reproductive health in many states is appalling. PP should be applauded and highly funded as a public service

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

And more donations, nah, I don't think so, we don't need more dead children do we?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 24

Sorry you got Downvoted so much-you're right. Out of all the organizations to donate to, planned parenthood is one of the worst.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Says the man completely ignorant of everything else PP does. Do abortions really overshadow the great stuff they do?

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

What do you do where you have thousands of dollars to drop for fake internet points? And where do I sign up?

9 years ago | Likes 713 Dislikes 12

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

Even if OP were to change the amount to cents per upvote, at least $ is going to a good cause (if proof is provided). OPs job is irrelevant.

he donated 50k for Christmas and he got 20k upvotes, I think he'll do it
