In terms of income, the top 1% line in Canada has been roughly my income, on average, for most of the last 10 years or so. (290k CAD, 210k USD)
But that doesn't mean I got a yacht. That doesn't mean I've got a million bucks in my bank account. My kid ain't going to private school. There's no expensive car in my garage. It just means I might be able to retire at 50 if I keep playing my cards right, and live pretty frugally after that.

Top 1% income doesn't necessarily mean top 1% wealth. Maybe they're an awful person and I'm clarifying unnecessarily, but they could also just be a surgeon in a high col area so their income happens to be quite high. They could spend a lot of that on causes they think will help, considering they specifically said they're doing what they can to help...

That's not a 1%er. That's a surgeon. If they have billions of dollars my question stands. My brother is a surgeon. I am an artist. Our father is the reason you're holding a smartphone that knows what you're thinking. He knows the 1%. I worked for them. Yacht and shit. Not a 1%er. Arguably still hoarding wealth but not 1%. I was a photojournalist for some well known publications during the occupy movement. I hit every major camp and lived at them for a time. If this guy is well off that's great.
