Combat Marine here. I've been shot at and had many a round travel very close to my head. The only hearing loss I experience is the lack of hearing protection from firing guns about a thousand times too many. The sound a round makes as it cracks by your head is distinct, but not even near deafening.

That is an incredibly naive statement to make.
1) these are fascists. Their goal is killing.
2) they don't see the common people as "one of their own". They see the masses as tools to be used and discarded for the benefit of the elite. Nothing more.
