Now, he's not as good as the memes (which were initially a parody of right-wing 'woke' fear-mongering e.g. "i wish biden was as awesome as republicans make him sound..."), but he turned out to be not half bad. I think there was a small but very vocal contingent of further left people that were angry enough about Bernie being shunted to the side in spite of mass popular support that they essentially gave up on the presidential system, but we have to work with what we have or the people on the other side of the aisle will run away with the country and leave us fighting just to keep fascism from being the du jour method of doing things.

Its not a matter of Biden being less centrist. If anything its a measure of the mood in congress shifting. What I will say is that biden (and, much as you might hate her, pelosi) are REALLY effective at getting congress to fall in line with the agenda. There's some very smart persuasion and deal making they've done that everyone in washington has been kinda shocked by. And its not surprising. Even under Obama, Biden was known as the main deal-maker.

Pelosi is a congressional party animal and her hands aren't clean, but the reason she kept her job for so long, and the reason I have to give her props, is that whenever the dems actually got something through the senate she got it through the house.
