Well it makes sense if you believe that only the ends of the spectrum deserve any respect. And the respect for a true woman is nowhere close to the respect for a true man.
Anything "less" than a "true" man deserves derision in their eyes for being more like a woman. And any woman who is more like a man than a "true" woman is a threat and needs to be mocked for not knowing her "place".

You can't change how you were made, your gender will always be the only gender you get, and that's final.
But at the same time you're a complete and utter failure if you're not performing your gender hard enough, and it's such a fragile state of being that it requires the state to enforce it, complete with publicized stigma and medical-grade abuse to "correct" misbehavior.

Thing that's fucked up is this sort of fucked up mentality is what creates the often overlooked body dysmorphia that many young men struggle with. Some dudes literally cannot get jacked muscles, at one point I was eating like 3k-4k calories a day just to maintain and not lose weight when I was a gym rat, and I was struggling to maintain 130lbs.
Funny thing that helped me be more okay with my body? Years later found out, all the folks I knew and envied? Gear. The answer was gear.

What more young guys susceptible to being swayed by this need to understand is that these guys don't actually give a fuck about you past your willingness and ability to drink the Kool-Aid and prop them up. Their standards are designed to be impossible to keep you trying until they've bled you dry of everything they can take from you and you'll be left behind with no money or self-esteem.
