I have always loved the contrast between Danny Devitos ability to play the worst people, and who he actually is. It's kinda weird to hear about fresh off an It's Always Sunny binge because it's like FRANK did that?
I once had dinner with Fred Penner, Canadian childrens entertainer from the 90's, it was a very surreal experience for me. I was doing security at his gig and I'd grown up watching his show- dude sat down and had a plate of spaghetti with me and was just an incredibly chill, friendly guy
I met Tom Hanks in the late 1990s in Florida while delivering pizza to him. Very sweet man, that loved to talk about his wife Rita. It was like every other sentence had 'my wife Rita'.
When life seems hopeless and you’ve lost faith in humanity, turn to stories like this to remind you that good people still exist. Don’t let a cruel, dark, world extinguish your hope for a brighter future.
I'm going to get publicly flogged because I might not remember this correctly, but didn't LOTR have a line about despair being the weapon of the enemy or something? When we fall into apathy we let those who continue to crush us under their greedy boot to thrive
I vaguely remember a LOTR quote about despair, but not the context of it. But, “Despair is the enemy's greatest weapon. Do not let them wield it.” is a direct quote from Mass Effect. Not flogging, by any means, just adding additional context. Agreed, falling into despair is how the real enemy keep us down. But with hope, we can instead rise.
I know it’s hard to stay positive when the world is always bombarding us with all the negative stuff. It seems like there is a disproportionate amount of bad compared to good. The good is out there, it just doesn’t feel the need to get in everyone’s face all the time. We see not just what is presented, but also what is expected. Look for good and you’ll find it. And like I said, never give up on hope. It’s the strongest weapon against the despair of our world.

Once I took a road trip with my nieces and nephews and I got to teach them about the whole arm crank thing to get truckers to honk their horn.I don't have children. I don't want children. I have a dozen+(don't make me count them) nieces and and nephews. As I've gotten older my greatest joys have been sharing things with them or teaching things. I can't believe I tried to kill myself before I taught someone how to ride a motorcycle. What if I missed that? There's good in this world etc
Glad you didn’t give up on life. It might seem small, but I’m sure your lessons will be something that sticks with them for the rest of their lives. :)
Dolly Parton literally cannot be stopped from giving money to charitable causes. She could be a lot richer than she is but she decided no, I have all this money I don't even remotely need, so I'm setting up charities and supporting others with it.
a ways back my brother showed me an interview/panel thing where they asked him about coming up with optimus's style and personality, and he has this great story about wanting him to sound weary and tired, that a great military leader wouldn't be this big charismatic hero (what the g1 producers wanted when he auditioned) but a tired old man desperate to make peace because war was such a shit way to live. I really love that story.
Worked on my ass! I'm slightly not old enough to have seen the Transformers movie in theaters, but I am old enough to have cried about Optimus dying when I rented it on VHS.

THAT’S how you use connections & pull to make the world a better place.

Good guys come in all shapes and sizes. Yeah, I've heard this before, and it always strikes me that such kindness always pays bigger dividends.

Mara was recently on some more news's podcast, and she only had the best things to say about Danny and Rhea. They sound like wonderful people.
FortifiedWhine
By all accounts I have heard Danny DeVito is a champion bloke.
TheFastpaws
It is nice to hear things like this. Especially when so many actors are trash people.
whereismymind86
the it's always sunny crew always have great things to say about him too, he seems like a great dude.

Did you see him and Bette Midler in Ruthless People?
ADHDinkubus
No I've never heard of it. Super don't pay attention to movies so I miss a lot of good stuff. Was it / he good?

Oh yeah, it was great. If you’ve seen Airplane! Same team. Screwball black comedy, here’s a trailer: https://youtu.be/5vbtTprdQng

Evil/Nasty characters are many times, as I've seen so far, played by some of the nicest and sweetest actors.

Finding out that Higo Weaving is apparently an absolute goofball on set was very strange.

Every interview I've seen with Lena Headey, she's been so bubbly and kinda silly 😊

But not bad about him

I want to give the man a hug.

there is not a single news/internet/web report anywhere about him acting badly towards anyone
truthader
I’ve never heard of that happening, either. He’d probably have a very different reputation otherwise.
gailforcewinds
Then what exactly did you mean by “sad” ones?

Peter Cullen once said he liked my cowboy hat. He also can change voices instantly like Robin Williams

He put WAY more effort into that character than what he had to for what was basically a 30 minute toy commercial.
SubTrout
I was not prepared for him to show up in Invincible, it was such a pleasant surprise!
Djones06236
Everytime I hear Thaedus I think it's Optimus.
SubTrout
I'm sure they absolutely were counting on that. When he's making a big speech to the Coalition I keep waiting to hear "Til all are one!"
Djones06236
I'm sure they were certainly planning on a large part of the fan base to hear his voice and get instant nostalgia.

I'm confused by your comment sorry
